๐Ÿšฉ Uda Devi was a valiant fighter who killed more than two dozen soldiers of the British army that laid siege to Lucknow, under General Colin Campbell's guidance.
๐Ÿšฉ Uda Devi Pasi was born in a small village of Awadh and like any other passionate Indian, her blood was also boiling as she witnessed the rising atrocities of Britishers.
๐ŸšฉShe joined Begum Hazrat Mahal's endeavours of fighting for independence and was given the command of the woman's battalion by the Begum, during the Seige of Lucknow.
๐Ÿšฉ After the army regiment headed by General Campbell had decimated Sikandar Bagh, it was observed that the bullet wounds of several British soldiers indicated a steep, downward trajectory.
๐ŸšฉSuspecting that a sniper was still hidden in the nearby tree, Britishers open-fired and a rebel's body fell on the ground. Further investigations disclosed that this rebel was Uda Devi, a woman, who was dressed as a man to participate in this struggle for freedom.
๐Ÿšฉ If one has ever passed the intersection outside Sikandar Bagh, Lucknow, one must've noticed a statue carrying a rifle. This statue is how this city is still paying homage to Uda Devi.
๐ŸšฉKilling almost 32 British soldiers, she has etched her name in Indian history as the anti-imperialist rebel who defied conventions with every bullet she fired!

๐ŸšฉDuring the churning of the ocean, many treasures came out and one of them was the much desired Amruta (nectar of immortality).
๐ŸšฉAll the Gods and the demons were eyeing the Amruta, and soon they began to dispute over it. Bhagwan Vishnu appeared before them and asked them to sit in separate rows in order for the Amruta to be served to them.
๐ŸšฉHe also put on a condition that they should be content with whatever they would receive. Shri Vishnu then took the form of a very beautiful lady Mohini, and started to distribute the Amruta.

๐Ÿšฉ The British Governor and some other distinguished men happened to read about the fame & greatness of Swami in the local papers and were attracted to take His Darshan. But they felt it below their dignity to go for His Darshan and it was equally impossible to summon Him to them.
๐ŸšฉSo they sent an expert photographer to get His pictures. The photographer tried to secure Swami's permission to take His pictures but Swami never agreed. The photographer at last decided to take the pictures without His consent.

๐Ÿšฉ The Chapekars are Chitpavan Brahmins from Konkan who settled at Chinchawad near Poona where the three brothers, Damodar, Balkrishna and Vasudeo, were born about 1870, 1873 and 1879 respectively.

๐ŸŒบ First of all, Sati took the form of Kali. Her form was fearful, Her hair untied and loose, Her body the color of a dark cloud. She had deep-set eyes and eyebrows shaped like curved swords.
๐ŸŒบShe stood on a corpse, wore a garland of skulls, and earrings made from the bones of corpses. She had four hands โ€“ on one hand, she had the head of a skull, and the other a curved sword with blood dripping on it.
๐ŸŒบShe had mudras on Her other two hands โ€“ one giving freedom from fear and the other giving blessings. She roared and the ten directions were filled with that ferocious sound.
