Prompt: WWX & LQR besties featuring Tofu and Peanut Bunner

It's time

WY is so excited. He's been waiting for this day for months. Waiting for his and LZ's bunnies, Tofu and Peanut Bunner, to grow big enough to explore the big, wide world

He pulls out the special bunny harnesses that he'd bought especially for this occasion: The bunnies' first walk

Even though he'd never seen himself as a bundad before meeting LZ, the moment they adopted the two Flemish Giant rabbits, he'd KNOWN this was meant to be

He also really wanted to see the neighbourhood freak out at the sight of two massive rabbits coming their way

His first stop was going to be LQR, who conveniently lived next door

He'd been carefully cultivating a friendship with old man Lan for months, determined to have LZ's uncle like him. After a bit of a rocky start (don't even ASK what WY did with LQR's antique Lan rule book), he thought they were finally nearing friend status

He was so proud of himself. And now, today, he was sure he was going to hop over the line from almost-friend to true-friend

And Tofu and Peanut Bunner were going to help him do that

You see, he's CONVINCED that LQR has a devilish sense of humour

It doesn't come out very often, but when it does, WY is delighted. He's definitely going to enjoy seeing it come out today (if it does)

Tofu and Peanut Bunner aren't fond of the harnesses at first. Tofu rolls around trying to remove it. Peanut Bunner thumps in indignation

Thankfully, he's prepared for this. He bribes them with raspberries (one each)

The moment they resign themselves to the harnesses, he opens the front door, and they're off! Faced with freedom, the bunnies nyoooom

Somehow, he manages to guide them in the direction of LQR's front door, and he presses the doorbell gleefully

LQR, opening the door: Wei Ying 🤨 Tofu. Peanut Bunner. Good afternoon

WY: Hihihi! We're HERE! And it's TIME!

LQR: Time for what?

WY gives a devilish grin: Time to terrorise the neighbourhood with giant bunnies

It takes LQR a moment. He strokes his beard. Turns the idea over in his head. And then he nods

LQR: I believe that the neighbourhood needs some character building. Let us go

That was wonderfully easy. WY is so excited that he offers one of the bunny leashes to LQR, who takes it instantly

They walk like this down the street. There's no one around, not yet, but there soon will be...

The first person they run into is Ms Yu

The same Ms Yu who keeps complaining about every leaf that falls on WY and LZ's front yard. She takes one look at the two large rabbits coming toward her and freezes like a deer in the headlights

And since she is always dressed in plum red, she looks like an overside fruit

The bunnies CHARGE

Ms Yu screeches and runs away, moving faster than WY has ever seen her move

LQR: That's the fastest I've ever seen her move in all my time living here

WY snorts with laughter and bends down to offer a baked hay treat to the bunnies

One must be rewarded for good deeds, after all

They next meet Mr Su, who is watering his garden. The very same Su who keeps trying to make his garden better than LZ's, who keeps bragging at the gardening club that his gentians are much better than LZ's

Lies. All lies

Mr Su stares down at the bunnies, who are standing on their back feet, inspecting the sub-par garden

Mr Su: Can I help you?

LQR: Oh, I'm sure they're looking for something to chew on

Mr Su: G A S P

WY: Eh. We should tell them not to bother. Nothing worth chewing here

LQR nods thoughtfully: Hm, you're right. Those gentians and nasturtiums look very wilted. And the daisies look diseased

Mr Su: I WILL HAVE YOU KNOW -

WY: The rabbits will probably get indigestion if they try to chew on anything here

LQR: Yes, I do believe so

WY: We'll have to make sure that they don't try to go after Su She, too. Sometimes I feel that if they don't get enough hay or treats, they'd try to take a bite out of US instead...

LQR: They ARE growing bunnies, after all...

Mr Su: LEAVE LEAVE LEAVE!

He looks terrified

LQR and WY leave, feeling very satisfied. Maybe Mr Su will think twice before disparaging LZ's garden next time

Together, they roam around the neighbourhood with the rabbits, frightening the dragons of the 'hood and winning over the sweethearts

Very soon, there are many people who look forward to WY, LQR, Tofu and Peanut Bunner's daily walks through the streets

It gets to the point now that if WY is even a minute late (bc he's caught up kissing LZ), LQR is there, knocking at the door, ready for their walk

WY loves it. He's confident now that he and LQR are besties

He can't wait to see what kind of shenanigans they get up to next on their walks
