I consider it a huge blessing I've never had to work a graveyard shift, & even if-in theory-I see the need for something like 24 hour groceries, gas stations, etc...I felt sympathy for their staff in Before Times, & I do now, when cities are going to shit, by design
One of the things that takes up a big chunk of real estate in my brain is incandescent rage at the laptop class & rich #resistance parents as they vote for actors that leave the ppl that endure these indignities to be robbed. Assaulted.
Teenagers earning min wage, to endure psychotics roaming the aisles in the worst sort of jobs I cld imagine.
None of this is hidden. If you go into "bad" fast food locations, you see it.
Nobody cares. Voters don't. Ppl that comment on "the ghetto McDonald's" & get to go back
to a nice manicured college campuses, they don't.
Nobody cares abt the ppl expected to endure it as a condition of their already-shitty jobs but they'll tell you they're modern working class heroes from their seats of "privilege"...while they cheer on criminals burning down
entire commercial districts. & they'll never even experience a moment's twinge of guilt or moral correction, ever.

A prisoner amplified by leftists thinks prison works, can we quote him on this
It isn't just that what he says is explicit and violent - the Democratic Party has spent more than the last 3 years pinning assaults & murders by ppl like this on...Donald Trump

This is going viral, re: a 7 yo transgender "boy". The parents seem so disinterested in where this child got the idea that discomfort with feminine socialization/impositions by society >>> manhood that it makes me think this is fake. huffpost.com/entry/transgen…
Here's what I'm talking about, re: aggression.
This is real, & it's something feminists used to discuss. The lack of options for girls (as in...children). The sexualization of children, the hyper-feminization of clothing for little girls.
That's enough to make a small child say, "I'm a boy. (Translation: dress me like a boy, buy me neutral colors, don't buy me clothes as they're cut/styled for girls.)"
But Mom didn't bother looking for that. I'm not convinced it doesn't exist now, actually.
Throughout the course of my entire adolescence, when Republican presidents were in office and Republicans could be blamed for indifference like this of the courts to crime victims, contemporary feminists discussed this.
No longer.
It's not "crickets"
Women like Jessica Valenti -the living embodiment of AWFL-ery-made a fucking career reporting on such incidents & care unless some frat JO is accused now. Domestic violence, random violence against women is not sexy anymore b/c it's not politically useful
For all the shitty superhero movies, this got so-so reviews at the time, but in hindsight, held against the endless franchise shit...it's almost as special as Nolan's take on "Batman".
That is, possessed of some dopey plot/logic holes, like many superhero movies, tht epic visuals are supposed to paper over; cartoonishly violent; even silly.
But the end product is still compelling, even beautiful; & not simply CGI-slick; well-scored, acted, edited
I think this script improves on Alan Moore's comic (blasphemy) w/its chosen Big Evil Conspiracy that chastens humankind awake.
This scene feels prophetic now..."What happened to the American dream?"
