i love folks and life is good but I don’t wanna be weird about it
diction like “i am so crazy blessed with such amazing people in my life you are all rockstars and I am humbled that I get to brush shoulders and hearts with each one of you” feels sweet but not particularly meaningful to me
it’s not pure empty calorie sweetness like instagram-coded “GAH so much love and light to these AMAZING cuties i am so #BLESSED to spend the week with 🥰😍🥰🥹”
but if the latter is high fructose corn syrup, then the former is like, idk, honey, maybe?
my love and appreciation for my folk isn’t honey or candy
i’m not sure what mine is closer to
what’s coming to mind is buttered corn on the cob
it’s salty and savory and a little sweet, and it’s messy and part of a larger meal, it’s not its own thing—there’s a whole bbq
so yeah. I love my life. I love my folk. The chances that fall to me are amazing & expansive & difficult & taxing & playful & often unremunerated & I’m not sure there’s any version of my life where I could have done anything else, loved any differently, been other than this
((h/t to @_brentbaum who, after talking over some of my problems and doubts, simply told me “all that is true—but I don’t see any possible version of you where you do anything other than what you’re doing now”
which… immediately clarified a lot))
