I generally ignore news about cisgender white celebrities which is why it has taken me this long to read about #GaryLineker. As the child of 2 immigrants and the granddaughter of a German Jew who escaped the Nazis in his youth, I believe I'm entitled to an opinion here.
So here it goes. I don't give a fuck about Gary Linekar. I do, however, care about @SuellaBraverman, whose right wing and often times fascist opinions are endangering this country. In case you didn't know Suella is the daughter of 2 immigrants. One parent is Indian Kenyan
In other words an Asian immigrant who benefited from the British colonisation of Africa before moving to the UK when Kenyans were given the right to rule their own country. Suella started out in a humble home but worked hard and got to Cambridge. And now look at her.
She speaks a lot of social responsibility. She believes that this is AS important as human rights. As if one can be socially responsible without having their needs met first. This woman may as well as say "I worship whiteness and am willing to step on the necks of others for it"
I cannot understand how the child of immigrants can be anti-immigrant. I cannot understand how someone who experiences racism and xenophobia can be so fucking racist and xenophobic. It is beyond me. But I guess that's what happens to us when we start worshipping whiteness.
