Russia to the bottom
March 12, 2023

From time to time, materials appear in the leading Western media about disagreements between the allies & the Ukrainian authorities, as well as within the allies themselves regarding the definition of Ukrainian victory
1/
and therefore the goals in the war, and accordingly the types, volumes and pace of aid.

However, the observers themselves point out that issues of such complexity as supporting Ukraine in the war against Russia are never without discussion.
2/
In order to speed up these discussions, & to speed up the provision of weapons to Ukraine for the offensive & the liberation of territories (namely, victories are the best motivation for further assistance), the Ukrainian authorities should take fairly simple & logical steps.
3/
Do not allow even a hint that the principles of democracy and the rule of law may be violated in Ukraine (attempts to hide such things are meaningless in the information age of the 21st century).
4/
Not to disrupt, but to strengthen unity, not hindering, but facilitating all possible political, economic & social contacts of Ukrainians with allies, as well as "third countries", which are trying to know their benefit "outside the battle".
5/
No government can handle these issues on its own, not worth trying. Not to hide, not to replace with fake cases, but to investigate on the merits & fundamentally correct the problems of corruption, abuses & inefficiency, especially regarding the Armed Forces & their provision
6/
The combination of these things will significantly strengthen the arguments of our friends & leave no chance for skeptics.

After all, as British columnist Timothy Asch recently noted, time doesn't really work for Putin. If Ukraine's allies do not delay.
7/
We are most interested in making sure that such delay does not stand a chance. All the more so when both the Armed Forces on the battlefield and sanctions in the economy bring victory ever more convincingly closer
8/
1. In 2022, the # of Russian companies under sanctions has almost doubled-from 1.6 thousand to 2.9 thousand. The Central Bank of Russia notes that under such conditions, Russian exports may lose competitiveness & decline even if supplies are redirected to friendly countries
9/
2. A third (33.3%) of the electricity produced in Germany in 2022 came from coal-fired power plants. Germany's coal generation is provided by its own resources, and this has become a significant factor in reducing the country's dependence on Russian gas.
10/
3. The Indian government has decided not to violate the sanctions imposed against Russia, in particular the price ceiling for Russian oil at the level of $60.

Officials in the Indian government have asked banks and traders to adhere to the current restrictions.
11/
Why is Putin trying to present Russia as a "leader of the non-Western world" - these countries do not need a "leader"; and one's own interests dictate the need to continue relations precisely with the civilized world, and not with a bankrupt robber.
12/
4. Meanwhile, the US has imposed sanctions against a number of Chinese companies that support the UAV program in Iran.

While big countries determine what will be more profitable in trade, their businessmen are helped to find the right answer.
13/
5. A sharp drop in export revenues of oil companies provoked a record 5-year price increase on the Russian gasoline market.

The price of the "Regular-92" brand has already jumped by 48% since mid-Jan. And "Premium-95" gasoline began to rapidly increase in price in Feb.
14/
In a little more than a month, its price has increased by 36%.

And it will continue

Decolonization Begins with Change in Mindset of Those Living in Regions & Republics that Moscow Controls, Tuvin Activist Says
Paul Goble
Staunton,
Mar. 10 2023
1/
Ever more people in the Russian Federation are talking about decolonization, but it is important to keep in mind that this term & the movement it describes does not necessarily involve a drive for complete political independence, according to Tuvin activist Dankhayaa Khavlyg
2/
Instead, it involves in the first instance “decentralization” with the center giving up & the regions & republics gaining control over political, economic & administrative affairs & a change in the mindset of the people living both at the center & elsewhere, he continues

Kremlin State TV admitting defeat, doom & gloom in Ukraine says Julia Davis

“There was a time, not very long ago, when Russia’s most prominent TV talk show host, Vladimir Solovyov, delighted in warning of a nuclear apocalypse that would hit the US or Britain (but not Russia.)
1/
So compelling were these arguments, they once attracted the on-air support of his show’s weather forecaster.

How things change. The first anniversary of Russia’s bloody, all-out invasion seemed to blanket Russian TV sets with doom and gloom.
2/
By the end of Feb. 2023, reality crashed the set, joining the once-jolly pundits who used to predict that Ukraine was about to fall and the West would soon back down, in fear of nuclear-armed Russia.

Russia’s Two-Headed Eagle Came Not from Byzantium but from Golden Horde and the Tatars, New Kazan Study of Muscovy Says
Paul Goble
Staunton,
Mar. 8, 2023
1/
Russians have been stealing everything from their neighbours for centuries ! One of the many Russian myths! ImageImage
In 1975, the Kazakh writer Olzhas Suleimenov stirred up a firestorm of criticism in Moscow for his book Az i Ya, which discussed the Turkic origins of the Russian chronicle, The Tale of Igor’s Campaign.
2/
Now a new book by Kazan authors about Mongol and Turkic elements in Muscovy threatens to do something similar. The new book, Muscovia: The Birth of the Two-Headed Eagle, was published in Kazan at the end of last year but is now being discussed there and in Moscow.

The 🇺🇦 War dividend?

One of the very few benefits from the 🇷🇺 war in 🇺🇦, which Ukraine has paid a tremendous price for, is that after 🇺🇦 wins, one of the three post war conditions is that Russia will be forced to pay reparations for lost lives & damaged infrastructure
1/
in the hundreds of billions of dollars.

Russian reparations combined with a western Marshal plan 2.0 will allow Ukraine to get brand new infrastructure from scratch!
New roads, hospitals, schools, residential living quarters, industry, etc
2/
which should set the Ukrainian population up for the next 2-3 generations. And it will widen the gap between a new, modern Ukraine and crumbling, outdated, decrepit Russian Soviet infrastructure.

Russia to the bottom
Mar 9, 2023

Racist propagandists relish the publication in The Washington Post that, they say, "the USA will need 15 years" to restore its potential - due to the reduction of defense spending and aid to Ukraine, which exceeded $32 billion.
1/
Trying to present this as a problem, the Rashists do not see the unpleasant conclusion: the more the US and its allies help, the more interested they are in the victory of Ukraine.

And the Rashists, on the other hand, are shelling Ukrainian cities,
2/
adding weight to the arguments about providing weapons as soon as possible. To complete the picture, Ukraine must demonstrate in every possible way that it is an outpost of freedom and democracy - and the pressure on Russia will increase.
