LIES, INACCURACIES, AND EXAGGERATIONS: Many of you know activist blogger Erica C. Barnett(@ericacbarnett) blocked me on twitter last year after I punched back and called her out for shoddy reporting. But she continues to play CHEAP and takes shots at me publicola.com… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
FALSE REPORTING: Barnett starts off the piece by referencing my firing from KOMO last year by saying I encouraged viewers to come to a rally held by the Proud Boys. I never did that in person or on any of my social media platforms. And my coverage never even aired on KOMO. She… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
ENTIRE PAPER TRAIL: On Wednesday March 8, I reached out to Kirkland media contact Sue Romero and told her I would show up. Prior to this email, I never met Sue in my life. So I gave her some background on my work. Under my current media fellowship at … twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
RSVP: Here’s the proof @kirklandgov gave me permission to attend the presser.
MORE INACCURACIES: If Barnett’s reporting wasn’t so lazy, she could have simply Googled my name and found my by-line @millcreekview. I’m also a regular contributor and collaborator with the @LynnwoodTimes, most recently covering the opioid clinic saga with publisher and owner… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
@millcreekview@LynnwoodTimes MY BY-LINE AT MILLCREEK VIEW: The publisher and owner of this Snohomish County newspaper also vouches for me and credits me for being a vital part of the team. Email included. @millcreekview
MY PARTNERSHIP WITH LYNNWOOD TIMES: I worked side by side with @lynnwoodtimes and Mario Lotmore on several stories and plan to do even more collaborations. I was primarily responsible for the paper's video coverage on this initial report.
LYNNWOOD TIMES DOUBLING DOWN: Publisher and owner of the @LynnwoodTimes doubling down again this afternoon, vouching for my partnership with his Snohomish County paper. @ericacbarnett never called Millcreek View(@millcreekview) or Lynnwood Times. Would have saved her from the… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
MORE EXAGGERATIONS AND INACCURACIES: After the encounter in Kirkland, I did not produce a story for this event and none of this made it on to Discovery Institute platforms. I only released a video showing my encounter with Kirkland’s media handler. And once again, my firing from… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
WHAT I ACTUALLY POSTED FROM KIRKLAND: Last week, I told you about a press conference I attended at Kirkland City Hall. Multiple elected officials including Governor Jay Inslee(@GovInslee) and King County Executive Dow Constantine(@kcexec) spoke at the … twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
JUST GOOGLE IT: Once again, Erica C. Barnett(@ericacbarnett) needs a primer on how to use Google. She closes out her hit piece by referencing my exclusive story about 15 year old Marcelles Orr, the young man who chased me with an axe in downtown Seattle in January. What she fails… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
SHE DOESN’T UNDERSTAND THE POWER OF VIDEO: Erica C. Barnett(@ericacbarnett) has failed to transition into the digital age or understand how video now drives all conversations. But this grandma does. That’s why she told me to show everything. Btw, Marcelles is safe and remains… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
YOU BE THE JUDGE: Do you think I intentionally go after the FAR-LEFT activists, or do you think they come after me? 🙃 Video don't lie Erica. @ericacbarnett
IN CLOSING: Well, that's 45 minutes of my life I'm not getting back after writing this thread. 😅
Bottom line, I have produced all the concrete evidence to refute virtually every key allegation in her piece. I stand by everything I have said and I have the truth on my side.
It's… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
SOME OF MY OTHER BY-LINES AND CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THIS PAST YEAR:
Alleged con man Steve Hickey could be facing disciplinary action or even stripped of his role as King County Fire Commissioner. The District #47 board will meet Tuesday at 7pm in Ravensdale to decide his fate. Hickey has been under investigation and on leave after multiple first responders accused him of abusing his power on the job. Some say Hickey demonstrated bad judgement when he prioritized live streaming on his social media platforms over the safety of patients in need.
Tuesday's Board Meeting will be held at Station 88 in Ravensdale from 7pm-9pm. More details below. The public is welcome and the room is expected to be packed with Hickey's critics.
Squatters and deadbeat tenants beware! The public shaming rallies continue this Saturday at the Maple Valley Farmer's Market. Homeowner Katrina Freitag is leading the charge and will be joined by other mom & pop landlords struggling to remove these alleged con men and women.🧵👇
Freitag is in a ferocious fight with Hickey who refuses to leave her house in nearby Ravensdale.
After our expose, Hickey's entire reputation as a King County Fire Commissioner and independent journalist is now on the line.
Standing by Freitag on Saturday will be Bellevue mom & pop landlord Jaskaran Singh, who made global headlines for his battle against Sang and Youjin Kim. They're now facing eviction for the fourth time after failing to pay rent on a $2M house in Bellevue.
Depending who you ask, King County Fire Commissioner Steve Hickey is a serial con artist or a faithful public servant moonlighting as an independent journalist. Either way, he's now facing numerous legal challenges and his entire reputation is on the line.
In part two of our series, YouTube journalist Tyler Oliveira(@tyleraloevera) and I take a closer look at fresh allegations and Hickey's troubled past.
In part one, Oliveira and I confronted Hickey with squatting claims. He's refusing to leave a house belonging to another woman, claiming it should be his. Hickey has already been sanctioned in court for not providing all documents during discovery.
Hickey files are now open. More Seattle media digging. The current controversy revolves around his role as a King County Fire Commissioner. He's on leave from duties as the investigation into his alleged abuse of power continues.
BREAKING: Embattled King County Fire District 47 Commissioner Steve Hickey announced Friday evening that he's taking a leave of absence. Multiple sources tell me Hickey is accused of abusing his power on the job and using station equipment to grow his social media profile.
A first responder says after showing up to an emergency scene, Hickey "does a triage, requests a motor vehicle accident response, and then goes back to his car and live streams on TikTok before fire even arrives, leaving his patient with PD that he just triaged."
All of this comes to light after YouTube journalist Tyler Oliveira(@tyleraloevera) and I launched an investigation into Hickey's alleged "squatting" in a Ravensdale house. He's also accused of construction hustles claiming dozens of victims.
At this point, Bellevue serial squatters Sang and Youjin Kim are arguably the most hated couple in WA. They are facing a fourth eviction after failing to pay rent again in Jaskaran Singh's $2M house. Up to this point, they have not faced any vigilantes trying to drive them out.
But on Tuesday, that all changed. Authorities confirm the Kim's got "swatted." That's when someone calls 911 and reports a fake emergency. When law and order breaks down, this is what happens.
Kim's failed to pay again, even after being bailed out by King County Bar Association's Housing Justice Project.
Bellevue deadbeat tenant Sang Kim makes a cameo appearance in Tyler Oliveira's story. Bottom line, now the world gets to see the broken King County court system and the failed laws that have enabled groups like Housing Justice Project to thrive.
BREAKING: Deadbeat tenants Sang and Youjin Kim are now facing eviction for the fourth time after failing to pay rent on a $2M house in Bellevue. Landlord Jaskaran Singh knows the courts are still backed up but is patiently waiting it out.
He's now ramping up for more protests and is also running for WA State Senate to help fix this broken system.
Meanwhile, it's unclear if King County Bar Association's Housing Justice Project will represent the Kim's this time around. HJP has been getting hammered for using close to $90K in taxpayer dollars to bail out these Korean nationals.
The Kim's have been served with a fourth unlawful detainer. At this point, most reasonable people know that these people are not low-income and have a long track record of running these hustles.
While Singh faces another long drawn out process, he is trying to make the best of this situation. He's now running for a State Senate seat, hoping to change the system that's hurting so many mom & pop landlords.
