AN ANALOGY!! I went to a gas station and paid for gas. This is what you get at a gas station. I pre paid. I filled my tank. My car broke down about a 1/2 mile down the road. My tank was full of water.
One would expect that a gas station that advertises gas, has always had gas in the pumps and collects your money in exchange for gas would only have gas in their pumps. This is how it has always been..we consumers have never been conditioned to ask or question. 2/
Yet, somehow, a paradigm shift occurred. The gas station and the corporate owner decided that they could make more money if they mixed their gas with water. Most cars wouldn't be impacted and most consumers wouldn't know the difference 3/
Yet the lust for more money for less and the lack of any truth in advertising created a need to put more water in the gas pumps. Now cars started breaking down and tracing it directly back to bad gas. 4/
In real life..the trained mechanic who investigated the cause of car collapse was able to empty the tank, prove the gas was water, repair the damaged parts and submit evidence to the purveyor..in real life, there was an apology and payment for the damage done. 5/
Now substitute gas station w HOSPITAL and gas w MEDICAL CARE by an EXPERT in MEDICINE (physician) And the new watered down gas is legislated non physicians who are being placed in a position to deliver medical care, that you pre-paid for, without a single day in med school.6/
However, no matter how broken your parts get due to bad gas..you have little to no recourse. All the Corporate owners deny any issue with their "gas" and their is no financial refund. All the time you are gaslit for pointing out that bad gas is destroying cars. 7/
The gas stations and pumps all look the same. You still pre-pay with a committment to get gas in return. Your car is now completely broken and sometimes a mechanic can repair it and it will run with good gas but sometimes it is totalled. No recourse 8/
Folks..this is what you're getting from Corporatized Healthcare. You've paid for insurance thru employment, self or taxes but no longer get Medical expertise. You are getting non physicians w out medical education and your body is breaking. Open up your eyes. #WeAreAllPatients
P.S..in real life, this did happen. Gas was mostly water, car broke down, 2000.00 repair, station terfed to corporate who then paid for repairs. Yet to see if vehicle is reliable again. When harmed by Hospital employed #BillingWidgets, you may have no recourse. no way back
A hospital used to be a place you went when sick and were assured you'd get medical expertise. A paradigm shift occurred. A hospital is just a building;there is NO assurance you will get medical care there. Many states have buckled to corporate pressure and legislated #fraud 9/
Corporations hold all power and we the patients have walked along without complaint. We are reaping what we have sown. We have blindly trusted and been lied to. The push for cheaper, more malleable and replaceable #BillingWidgets has been a windfall for the #BigHealthCartel 10/
Patients are entering hospitals only to find no physicians in the ER, OR anesthesia and ICU. Your insurance is supposed to buy you medical care. That is not what you are getting and you are getting this care #WithoutInformedConsent..Time to #GetInformed 11/
In days past, all the ER Medicine Residency spots available filled and many were left desiring that profession but denied the opportunity. Yesterday, 555 ER spots were left unfilled. The prophacy is being fulfilled..Next Corporations will say they have to use #BillingWidgets 12/
When Corporations themselves created the intolerable conditions leading to the downfall of Emergency Medicine..while all the complicit (that is all of us..physicians, NPs, patients, legislators, profiteers) pushed it to happen. You have now entered a new phase of Darwinism. 13/
Furthermore, this profiteering false narrative is depriving us of bed side nursing. All want to be autonomous NPs playing doctor..nobody wants to be treated as poorly as nurses (and they are) but the illusion wont last long.
Happy to remember the good ole days when Nurses actually were able to spend bed side time with patients and were proud of their profession and training. The caring are the first to fall to the predators
