Today is birth anniversary of another Legendary MD TFM has given in 40s to 70s.

SMS one of the finest MDs has given many memorable albums. His association with Pakshiraja and Jupiter Studios for most of his time. He has scored for MGR and surprisingly Jaishankar has got couple of good albums like the above from SMS

He also co-worked with other MDs of that times like CRS, TGL and other legendary singers who have sung for him like MLV, Radha Jayalakshmi, P A Periyanayaki, TMS, SC Krishnan and many.

Mannippu has another lovely number 'Nee Enge En Ninaivugal Ange' sung by both TMS and female version by APK and PS.

SMS was known for 'Singaravelane Deva' from Konjum Salangai and Malaikallan 'Ethanai Kaalam dhaan Emaatruvaar' but, even though he has scored only less than 50 movies, he has given lovely numbers

Before 1960's KVM composition of 'Kannan Mana Nilayai' by SJ, SMS has tuned this for Ezhai Padum Paadu in 1950 sung by none other than the great MLV

MGR's magnum opus 'Nadodi Manan', what a great album. NSB has composed 3 but SMS has scored rest which contains 'Thoongathe thambi thoongathe, Summa Kedandha Nilathai, Uzhaippathila uzhaipai peruvadhilla'

But this is my favorite. Jikki's humming at the start take us to a different world. What a brilliant melody.

He has scored for Sivaji in 'Kalyaninin Kanavan'. This is another favorite of mine.

And this Sindhu Bhairavi from the same movie, Radha Jayalakshmi, Padmini.. what a song

SMS is adept in composing peppy club numbers too.

This one is from 'Pennai Vazha Vidungal' and LRE is doing the vocal honours

MSV has considered him as his Guru. SMS has worked on few other movies as co-composer in 70s. Its quite unfortunate that such a lovely MD couldnt give us more music.
