Paul Vallas participated in the months-long bullying and harassment campaign of Oak Park Dir of Public Health @Theresa_Chapple by the hate group Awake’s leadership

Paul Vallas is a lying coward who couldn’t even stand up for a doctor of color under attack by unhinged white women

Starting in Nov 2021, Awake leader Jessica Hockett (aka ewoodhouse7) singled out @Theresa_Chapple, a woman of color, for her COVID policies despite not living in Oak Park

Hockett began a tweet storm of attacks for her 40K+ followers, even gaslighting her based on race

.@Theresa_Chapple had to seek police protection at times due to the level of harassment directed towards her by Awake and others

You can see the racism the doctor mentions on full display in some of the comments under Awake and Hockett’s posts

During the middle of this bullying campaign, Paul Vallas gave Jessica Hockett nearly 30 mins of airtime while guest hosting a radio show to attack @Theresa_Chapple, even joining in on the attacks

The doctor was given no opportunity to defend herself

It’s painful listening to that. Paul Vallas, Amy Jacobson and Jessica Hockett attack this brave doctor of color and question her integrity for keeping students safe. None of them have backgrounds in medicine, yet that didn’t stop their gaslighting

The attacks didn’t end there

Shannon Adcock, Awake’s founder, even accused @Theresa_Chapple of some horrendous things

Again, these people have NO CONNECTION to Oak Park, they live 30 mins away in Naperville & Wheaton. Their kids don’t go to school in Oak Park

Hockett would eventually be banned from Twitter a few months later (then reinstated by Musk)

Meanwhile, @Theresa_Chapple, who handled this entire ordeal graciously, was awarded Oak Park’s Villager of the Year award

In June 2022, Paul Vallas participated in the fundraiser for Awake - the same org that led this hateful campaign of bullying and harassment towards a doctor of color, then claimed he didn’t know who they were

That’s obviously a lie. Vallas knew EXACTLY who Awake was

Anyways, this is @Theresa_Chapple’s story to tell, not mine. These were just my observations

Hopefully she will tell her side of the story because it certainly does seem relevant since Paul Vallas certainly had a role in this and he could be our mayor in a few weeks
