Silicon Valley social media giants couldn't compete with TikTok so now they're using their bought politicians to force it out of business with fabricated hysterical claims about "national security", and of course everyone in the Western media class applauds with glee

these are the same people who claim the free market and competition are sacrosanct, as well as those conservative creeps who have been whining incessantly about "online censorship" as they cheer on the banning of an entire social media platform. They can't compete, so they ban:

the hilarious thing is that Twitter is partly owned by the Saudi regime which operates vast bot networks to disseminate propaganda, and Facebook and Google actually spy on its users and infringes on their privacy and gives that data to the FBI, but no one cares about that

the ACLU is entirely correct on this, and of course the very same conservative right-wing creeps who have been crying endlessly about "the twitter files" are mocking them and calling them CCP agents for actually defending online free speech:

as Yanis Varoufakis notes, China was able to break free from Silicon Valley global hegemony and create its own successful tech companies. This challenge is unacceptable, so they have to destroy them as they claim to love free markets, competition and free speech. It's all a fraud

meanwhile Silicon Valley big tech companies function as the primary propaganda apparatus of the US, as is openly admitted, and when others dare resist their domination the US screams hysterically about free speech and democracy being undermined
