I'm sorry, watching Tories set about solving the numerous major problems that have become entrenched in the United Kingdom - as if someone else caused them - is like watching 355 people with shared psychosis. It's galling. They f*cked it all up in the first place. #GTTO 1/10
When they caused all of the problems that we are now struggling with, they told us that they were taking astute decisions in the best interests of the entire country. At that point they patted each other on the back and said well done. #GTTO 2/10
Now they behave as if that was another group of people completely - not them - and what they are now doing is coming in to clean up the mess. A mess that they somehow inherited. From someone else. #GTTO 3/10
As if they didn't cost us billions in fraudulent Brexit loans. They didn't cost us billions in PPE that wasn't fit for purpose. Test & Trace schemes. High speed rail. A 40 day change of leadership with an economy wrecking 'mini-budget'. #GTTO 4/10
It's as if they haven't spent the last 12 years with a clear majority and - in effect - an elected dictatorship allowing them a free hand to do whatever the hell they like. #GTTO 5/10
It's very much as if - now that the Brexit chickens have come home to roost - they didn't wrench us out of the single market on lies and false reassurances, empty promises and glib soundbites backed by dark money and questionable purposes. #GTTO 6/10
They are literally patting Jeremy Hunt on the back. Much as they applauded and they brayed for Kwasi Kwarteng. Just as Rishi Sunak was celebrated for his budgets - now the Prime Minister righting all the wrongs. #GTTO 7/10
And still, in all this, their solution remains the same - absolutely the same - as it was under Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and now Sunak. Tax cuts for the rich. Stealth taxes for the poor. Something off beer and petrol to shut the ordinaries up. #GTTO 8/10
"How much do you think we can get away with sticking in the back pockets of the party donors this time?" - that is literally the question every Tory Chancellor asks when they sit down to do their sums. #GTTO 9/10
People should be outraged with this budget. They should be absolutely apoplectic. Puce. All the while the picket lines stand in the rain campaigning to get *our money* back out of the Tory donors pockets and into education and infrastructure. #GTTO 10/10
