1/ What is it to "force team" and why does it matter? With #LGBWithoutTheT trending it's an apt question and one where I intend to present the case for an amicable divorce, members of the jury. I choose those words intentionally, divorce is private, but this is a very public row.
2/ LGB are sexual orientations finding our protected characteristic in s.12 of the Equality Act 2010 regarding our exclusive or no-exclusive same-sex attraction. T is covered by s.7 and concerns "reassignment" and "change". Quite different concepts:

legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/15/…
3/ It's assumed, (remarkably), that these quite different protected characteristics will always be in political and social union and said that they must therefore always act together. The rainbow requires unconvincing, rictus grins and gender adherents must speak of no tension.
4/ But tension there is. Such would be natural in any coalition. Different groups have different priorities and different ways of looking at the world. Tensions there are, as I will set out. Denying them and denying plurality of opinion brings us to our first homophobic milestone
5/ That is to say, gays who dare to raise this opinion immediately have their analysis construed as hateful. As Professor Stock said recently, the resort to ad hominem attacks on character is now a first responder, not a last resort.

6/ We can start with the most obvious tension. Gender ideology says gender non conforming behaviour in youth (which correlates with adult homosexuality) is diagnostically definitive that surgical and hormonal correction is necessary. It says wrong puberty is conversion.
7/ We extremely worried homosexuals say the evidence shows 90%+ patients grow out of gender dysphoria. That it is fuelled by charities and media. That there was a dark joke at the Tav "soon there will be no gay people left". That this is gay conversion by gender.
8/ To ignore or deny this. To stay silent as the Sphinx as Stonewall have. To leave homophobia as an ignored concern here is a clear malign indicia of the "forced team". One side's concerns are coming first and they're not the homosexuals. It's a somewhat uncomfortable ship no?
9/ Because on this crew, under this rainbow, you so much as gently express a concern and you'll be cancelled. Don't even think about being a lesbian and saying something, they will come for you twice as hard as gay men like me, but come they will.
10/ Beyond this what does a forced team do? Well, a team must have a focus. An aim. A mission. A great thing they assemble around. LGBTWTFBLT has a great project. It is - notably - not a project to focus homosexual rights or concerns. Trans is everything.
11/ And that's before we get to the fact that modernity for homosexuals is organisations that used to represent us "celebrating" non-binary coming out, aromatic status, a new gender de jour, and straight people using the slur "Queer".
12/ See. What we have here is the blunting of homosexual rights and concerns. The absence of advocacy or story telling about our lives. The descent into vulgarity and pseudo porn in prominent gay figures. The clowns of drag. The loss of concern.
13/ So this comes with an opportunity cost. As a homosexual man, I worry desperately about HIV with young gay men. I worry about care for old gay gem. I worry about loneliness for both. I worry about the drink and drugs some lads consume. I worry about unhappiness and depression
14/ None of those concerns are welcome under the rainbow. Nothing is said of such things. Nothing is said of woes here or the fact homosexual men are executed with some celerity and efficiency across the globe. Gay rights is now parochial and gender obsessed and Western.
15/ Beyond this, as I've written before, gender eclipses everything. It rewrites gay history. Male drag queens at Stonewall are posthumously transed. We are told we are basically second class people who couldn't even win our own rights, we owe others.
16/ We're told we're "genital fetishists", or in the case of lesbians, "sexual racists". This is simply calling us sinful again and it goes for guilt. Guilt is powerful with us gays. Most of us feel it. Most of us have a bad history with it. It works on us. That's why they say it
17/ Forced Teaming thus blunts who we are. Focuses people who are different to us. Focuses policies and language that existentially is opposed to us. Pushes policies that harm us. It may be a team, but it's very clear who is the leader.

And it's not us
18/ There is another way. As will be obvious in from this thread gay men and lesbians have distinct voices, overlapping concerns, but different and valuable things to say alongside each other. That's our team but it's right we have separate organisations sometimes.
19/ And it's right we have organisations where we come together with bisexuals. We have a shared right to pollical assembly around our same-sex attraction. That makes sense. Our differences are as nothing to those with gender.

1/ The “Gay not Queer” discourse has agitated some of the intellectually less able inflatable looking chaps I see.

Such “men” foolishly believe themselves civil advocates, but they are mere Turkeys voting for Christmas.

Allow me to explain what gender has in store for gay men
2/ Gender brings back the closet. It says uttering the truth that you are same sex attracted is hateful. It addresses that injunction only to homosexuals, not straight men. Your choice as a gay man is to shut up or to lie and pretend you would countenance opposite sex relations.
3/ It thus holds out two hands like the chap with the pills in the matrix, only this time neither of them lets you be truthful. Your destiny is to lie or shut up. That is a state or suppression, yet it is encouraged by many gay men. Some are in fear, some cowards, some don’t care

1/ I remind @Change that the test for joint enterprise criminal liability in the UK is "encouraging or assisting" a crime, such as harassment. I further remind them that "assisting an offender" in any way is also a statutory criminal offence.
2/ That's before we get to malicious communications, communications offences generally or the vast array of civil law implications. In the UK the Equality Act 2010 protects persons from discrimination and harassment according to protected characteristics.
3/ One of those characteristics is "religion or belief". In UK law it is settled that this freedom of speech includes those who take issue with the contested modern fad of "gender identity ideology". Where discrimination or harassment occurs, remedies are available in damages.

1/ There's a diabolical genius to gender. It looks like freedom, but those labels, flags & discourse policing are just prisons. It looks like gay rights, but it causes the Stonewall CEO to call lesbians "sexual racists". It looks like progress, but relies on 1950s sex stereotypes
2/ It looks like kindness to use the "preferred" pronoun, but really it's just controlling your speech and your ability to describe the world. It looks like activism, but really it's shutting down dissent whether it's taking LGB Alliance to court or pillorying the lesbian project
3/ It looks like consequence-free medicine. Because here it lies more than it's normally inclined to, (and this is a creed steeped in deceit). It bears false witness to puberty blockers, it says detransition doesn't happen much, it reels off lies about suicide statistics

1/ Imagine your community was summarily redefined by those who claimed to represent you. This is what’s happened under gender ti homosexuals. Lesbians are now being pilloried for organising as lesbians because they are told that word no longer has the meaning it did
2/ I ask people to really think about this. How would you feel if you lost the ability to name what you are and associate with people just like you. What sort of ideology do you think might command you reconsider the very basic fundamentals of what you are enjoying who you are
3/ Would it be a nice ideology willing to listen and accommodate or does this not rather sound like top down authoritarianism picking on a bunch of women who always get picked on. It’s quite something isn’t it to say to people they are no longer what they think they are?

1/ Greer's concision can eclipse her brilliance, this is worth watching a few times for that reason. The analysis here is of gender being an example of looking through the wrong end of the telescope to define what a woman is, it's reductive and the externalities become the core.
2/ That is very much worth exploring because the unreality (and superficiality) of gender are the substitutes for material humans. This makes all those defined by gender (particularly women) humans-lite - nothing more than a collection of social rules and norms
3/ Greer calls this a profoundly disabling notion, I agree and would go further to say it's profoundly dehumanising. What is being conceptually posited here are second class humans no more than the sum of face paint and clothing.

1/ Edgy bang on the money here. He’s responding to an academic (aren’t they always bloody academics) who seems to prize a strange sort of LGBTWTF exceptionalism in which we can’t have lives she deems “too normal”
2/ I suppose one ought to expect this really as this character and her pals appear to be doing their best to make us all look ridiculous and in many cases dangerous. Make no mistake, the manifesto here is of permanent “otherness”
3/ This time it comes with lazy fantasising for a time when there was actual homophobia and life was much tougher. That’s the epitome of a luxury belief and could only be espoused from a place of very deep comfort and privilege.
