Playing around with #midjourneyv5 I decided to see if it could create realistic news images, so here's the entirely fictional Ukrainian peace talks between France, the US, Russia and Ukraine:

It struggles a bit with Zelenskyy, but overall it does a pretty good job of creating entirely fictional images, and I can only assume this will get better. You have to wonder what sort of fake news could be created with #midjourneyv5

Now Midjourney V5 is out, I've decided to rerun some of my US presidents as Popes to see the difference in quality, and it's fair to say it's a significant improvement. Here's Joe Biden, left is V4, right is V5:

V4 seemed to struggle a lot with Donald Trump, the first Trump image below is the most Trump-like I could muster, but the new version is spot on. Obama is more realistic, and it doesn't automatically go for a default portrait image like it did before.

Inadvertent thirst trap, Pope John F Kennedy looks less handsome but more realistic in V5.

🧵I've been taking a look at some of the sources linked in the @TheGrayzoneNews article by @LucyKomisar attacking the Navalny documentary, and boy, are there some big issues with the sourcing. Komisar's research has been aided by AI, and not the smart kind

Several of the links in the article are PDFs contain answers apparently set by the author of the article to the AI assisted writing tool Write Sonic, and in some cases are used as sources for claims in the article.
