Trump denies he had any sexual relations with Stormy Daniels.
Stormy claims they met and had sex in 2006 at a celebrity golf tournament.
This was around the time Melania had given birth to their son. /1
Stromy Daniels first attempt to go public with the story was in 2011.
She was paid $15,000 by In Touch Magazine for the interview.
Under threat of a defamation claim they didn’t publish the interview. /2
Karen McDougal also makes a claim that she had an affair in 2006.
She was paid $150,000 by the National Enquirer for the interview.
They also never published the story. /3
Micheal Cohen allegedly makes a deal with National Enquirer to buy the non-disclosure part of the deal with Karen McDougal for $125,000 but this deal NEVER materialises.
Stormy Daniels retains the same lawyer and also approaches the National Enquirer. /4
Cohen agrees go pay $130,000 to Daniels for her story and a NDA.
Micheal Cohen opens a bank account under “Essential Consultants” and pays $130,000 to Daniel’s attorney. /5
The Wall Street Journal publishes a story detailing the deal between McDougal and National Enquirer.
Trump is adamant that he did not have an affair.
But payments went to Micheal Cohen. /6
Trump’s organisation paid Cohen $35,000 a month for a year which totals $420,000.
Cohen initially claimed the payment was unrelated.
Trump posted on Twitter that the payment to Cohen was unrelated to the campaign and it was for a retainer. /7
Cohen pleaded guilty to 8 federal charges of tax evasion, fraud and campaign finance violations related to the payments to Daniels and McDougal. He was sentenced for 3 years.
He claimed that Trump directed him to make the payments. /8
Micheal Cohen has been testifying against President Trump.
Trump’s spokesperson said that the DA’s office has been on a Witch Hunt.
Are these charges legitimate or is this an attempt to stop Trump from becoming the President again?
