Ok this SMO will not be happening tonight, though the test was a success. But here’s a little preview. Next weekend, my confederate and I are going to set up a hashtag to which people can tweet to have #LordLaser project their messages to the Russian government onto the embassy.
The messages will be subject to human review, to prevent counter-trolling. The idea is to let people in Ukraine and Ukrainians abroad speak directly to the Russian government. We will enable messages in Ukrainian, English, and Russian.
I will post details next weekend, when we are ready to start collecting messages.
To all who are either congratulating me or chiding me for not neutering my cat, the cat is not mine. I am in a hotel in rural Turkey. I am a bystander who likes animals.
To all my #Ukraine-supporting friends: For the past couple of weeks, I have been attaching @shanovna_s’s laser essay to every tweet by Russian foreign ministry twitter accounts. See below for an example. The idea is to make sure that Russian propaganda is broken up with something
Serious and compelling. Today, the ministry accounts began blocking me. So far it’s just one, but I am worried that I won’t be able to continue doing this for much longer. So please pick up the torch and start appending Katya’s video to embassy tweets,
and other Foreign Ministry social media postings. It will make sure it gets seen by those most likely to be interested in Russian government messaging.
This is russian policy: ships stacked up in the Sea of Marmara trying to go through the Bosporus to get grain out of #Ukraine while food prices worldwide remain high.
