There was always the error among Africans that other peoples around the world share the same values with them. According to Historian, Prof. John Henrik Clark, "the African would feed a stranger before he thinks of the children's meal..." It was cultural.

"For if you are humane and another human being comes into your house, you invite him to dinner..." You offer him a meal and rest. This was the cultural predisposition that the Portuguese met in African when they arrived in 1485.

No one would have known that "the welcomed guest would enslave the man of the house and the woman who cooked the meal".

In 1470, Oba(a royal title, meaning 'king' in the Edo language of present-day Nigeria), Ewuare the great, of the Benin empire that was centered around Bini city, envisioned a day in the future when strangers from across 'the salt waters' would set the empire up in flames.

His later successor, Oba Ozoluo(1481-1504CE) knew of the prophecy, but when the Portuguese arrived in 1485 CE, he received them as the welcomed guests of the emperor. He even gave the Portuguese permission to build forts on an island that became known as Fernando Po.

It was from here that the Portuguese, first began exploiting the Congo, the bight of Biafra and what is today Equatorial Guinea. Elmina castle, in what is today Central region of Ghana(where over 12 million Africans who walked through the 'gate of no return' ended up as enslaved

persons in the Americas) was to come shortly after.

When the Akan groups, revolted against the presence of the unfriendly strangers on their coast, the Portuguese left briefly to return later on, as messengers from a God who created all things.

What followed could better be explained with the words of Jomo Kenyatta, Kenya's first President: "when the Europeans came to our lands, we had the land and they had the bible; 'close your eyes, let's pray'. And we closed our eyes shut.

When we opened our eyes, they had the land and we had the bible".
There was also an ancient Masai prophecy that said "when the white one comes, the African shall die".

This prophecy was also known by the Garamantes who made up the number of Africans that took over Iberian peninsula in 711 CE. But none was considered by these Africans.

African women were never seen as sex objects until foreigners influences.

In pre-colonial worldview, women were never seen as sex objects. That's why many traditional photographs show women posing half-naked with less care in the world as such has been their life. #Africa

Being ashamed of one's body began with the teachings of Christianity and the colonial school system, life styles, introduction of sex through media, Hollywood and such.

It was ok for women to walk around the village half-naked without arousing men because men's conscience on sexuality was not yet corrupted. There was no shame in publicly viewing body parts. This can also be seen in ancient Kemet where Isis, Akhenaten can be seen half-naked.

During the Eritrea war of independence over 30% of Eritrean Freedom Fighters during Eritrea's war of independence were women.

The Eritrean War of Independence was a conflict fought between Ethiopian governments and Eritrean independence fighters from 1 Sept 1961 to 24 May 1991.

Eritrea had become part of Ethiopia after World War II, upon the defeat of Italy and both territories were liberated from Italian occupation.

The marxist Ethiopian government enjoyed Soviet Union support until 1989 when glasnost and perestroika started to impact Moscow’s foreign policies, resulting in ceasing of support to foriegn allies.

This was the history they never taught under AFRICAN HISTORY on MUAMMAR GADDAFI .

Below are 16 things Col. MUAMMAR GADDAFI did under his rule.

1. There was no electricity bill in Libya, electricity was free for all its citizens during Gaddafi's reign. #Africa

2. There was no interest on loans, banks in Libya were state-owned and loans were given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.

3. Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi and his family lived in a tent during his reign.

4. All newlyweds in Libya received $60,000 Dinar (US$ 50,000) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family

5. Education and medical treatments was free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans are literate. During his reign the figure was 83%

Earth Castles, Togo 🇹🇬
The Batammariba people, whose name means "those who model the earth", live in north-eastern Togo and are known for making remarkable mud tower-houses (Takienta) which have come to be seen as a symbol of Togo. #Africa

Many of the buildings are two storeys high and those with granaries feature an almost spherical form above a cylindrical base. Some of the buildings have flat roofs, others have conical thatched roofs.

They are grouped in villages, which also include ceremonial spaces, springs, rocks and sites reserved for initiation ceremonies.

Why did the African Empires Fall?

Most African society were mostly focus on spirituality than Military, unlike the European who focused mostly on military and also that believed that "what is mine is mine, and what is yours is mine if I can take it".

Mansa Musa went round the world sharing Gold and showcasing is wealth and resources, which attracted most Europeans to come than to Afrika to explore and also try to take these resources by force.
Meanwhile Afrika didn't take military serious unlike spirituality.

Even after the Berlin conference and the oral expression of African independence, There is no independence of any African country all what the European did was to make few people wealthy then control the resources indirectly.
