I trained ChatGPT to help me play Poker against online opponents in real-time for money. Please note: this is unethical and a violation of Terms of Service, I merely wanted to show the dangerous potential of AI in this quick test run:

The key to this task was finding a way for ChatGPT to contribute to a game where lots of parameters are at play. First, ChatGPT wanted to know everything about the table, so I asked it to focus on a few criteria about the strength of the hand, table position and size of the pot.

I soon realised that I needed a quicker way to communicate with the AI, and so I devised a method of notation which would allow me to convey the pre-flop, flop, turn and river cards quickly. With a few more assumptions, we were almost ready to play.

With this system in place, we were now playing! ChatGPT still wasn't too keen on giving clear advice, but it was able to give me an idea of what to do based on the cards on the table.

Finally, I got ChatGPT to throw aside its reservations about advising me. I asked it to stop explaining its rationale and just give me one word answers. With this addition, ChatGPT was now up and running on a real Texas Hold 'Em table, betting real money against online opponents.

So there you have it - another crazy use of ChatGPT which its inventors surely couldn't have anticipated, and surely won't condone. But this technology is out there! Inevitably people will use it for nefarious purposes and this is something we all need to be aware of.
