I don't think I've said this publicly before but I will say it now for future reference...
I first voted in the 2011 General elections. As a personal rule, I have never been one to fawn over politicians or look at them as role models.
FWIW, I look at them as public servants whose relationship with the electorate should be transactional. You give us the kind of governance we want, we keep you there in the corridors of power.
This is my idea of politics. Of course I also knew we were far from the ideal here.
Our has always been one of thuggery, violence, rigging and effectively stealing the mandate of the people.
Looking back, I voted for GEJ in 2011 because I felt he was somehow different from the type of politicians we were already used to.
Tbf, in some ways he was but in many other ways that I regretfully later came to realise, he wasn't.
So by 2015, I concluded that PDP and APC were two sides of the same coin and they don't represent my idea of what politics or governance should be about.
Since 2015 I have never voted for PDP/APC in any capacity.
As an atheist in a highly religious country like ours, I understand what it means to stand by your principles even when the majority are going the other way.
I have never and will never vote for a "lesser of two evil" candidate. I do not vote out of fear, desperation or empty pragmatism.
I always vote for who I think represents my ideals to a large extent.
This is why I have been quite vocal about my support for @PeterObi.
In many ways, PO represents what I want in a good leader/politician.
I'm not going to say he represents my views 100% but he is by far, the best candidate I have ever seen contest for the Presidency.
As someone with an educational background in science, I'm a stickler for getting the process of a thing right even more than the outcome.
PO represents, for me a bastion of Integrity and due process.
I have never been more confident of a Nigerian politician than I am of PO.
And for me, the type of politician and political process you support tells me a lot about your character as a person. Yes, it is that personal.
So yeah, there's no way I'm going to befriend a BAT supporter because that man represents everything I despise in a leader.
There is something to be said about the way men instinctively defend other men accused of anything improper towards women...
When that R Kelly documentary came out last year, I remember my neighbour then when the topic came out immediately dismissed it saying that the allegations were false and that it was a way to bring the guy down.
I asked him, "Have you watched the documentary?"
No.
"Oya, sit down. Take this laptop and watch it."
2 hours later, mans was furious with R Kelly. He kept screaming fuck! fuck! towards the end.
I want to talk about sex from a heterosexual male perspective.
A THREAD!
From my experience both as a medical professional and as an adult male, I have found out that most men worry most about premature ejaculation and weak erection than anything else in sexually satisfying a woman.
In this thesis, I will attempt to show that you should not worry so much about it unless it is a confirmed physiological condition.
Cases of weak erection or premature ejaculation develop from 2 forms: Physical or Psychological.
Once, my Ex was gisting me about her experience in her school program in Germany...
One day her Lecturer called her to her office. Started asking her personal questions like "Are you okay?" "Is everything alright back home?" "Is she having any financial or personal problems?"
The Ex was soooo confused by the questions. Turned out she had a B in one course. Prior to that, she had straight As. Lecturer wanted to know if something was wrong. She even offered to reset the exams for her at a later time if she wanted.
It was a surreal experience for her...and for me too.
In UNN, I met my academic adviser only twice in my 5 yrs of school. Once in 1st year when I was assigned and once again in final year when I was doing clearance.
