I didn't think my Mays, Jr. article would wind up making me America's foremost expert on Seattle's political corruption, but there are so many threads that branch out from this story and you just find more and more scumbags getting rich off absurd government contracts
Seattle gets away with this because everything is presented as being about "social justice" so people don't really dig into just how insane the government's behavior is
Once in a while a story breaks about the city giving grants to yet another rapist, but it's deeper than that
The problem with these "progressive" or "social justice" contracts is that a lot of "social justice" organizations have insane ideas about how criminals have been "Done Wrong by Amerikkkan Society," so you inevitably funnel money to convicted felons who just steal it all
They also engage in legalized money laundering. Seattle gave $3 million to an organization whose current executive director gang raped a pregnant teenager because they wanted to funnel the money through his NGO to an organization they weren't legally allowed to finance
This is such unbelievable corruption that I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't track down the evidence myself. They couldn't give money to King County Equity Now because it wasn't a registered NGO, so they tried to launder cash through a different NGO that then stole it all
And the NGO that stole all the money had a gang rapist who brutalized a pregnant 17 year old as their executive director at the time the money was given to them. Who could have foreseen that an organization with such upstanding leadership might misallocate funds?

There's a story of a dude from CHAZ that really shows how cruel allegedly "compassionate" progressive policy can actually be.
Let me tell you the tale of Travis Berge, the insane meth addicted homeless man who committed tons of felonies and ended his life in a murder/suicide
I first became aware of Travis Berge when he took a ton of drugs and destroyed the CHAZ communal garden while doing methamphetamine-induced karate
"This man interests me," I decided. So I researched who the meth ninja was and found out that he was in the documentary "Seattle is Dying." He comes in at the 14:30 mark and they interview him on camera
He definitely got this from me, right? I've never seen a single other person post that on Twitter and I've posted it like 15 times.
How long until Smith really gets redpilled and starts posting about how Portland's black homicide rate was 123 per 100,000 last year?
You'll know Noah is reading my tweets if he starts posting graphs of cities before and after riots in order to argue that riots are the primary cause of America's homicide increase since 2014.
If Noah posts St. Louis County's murder numbers since 2014, I'm suing for plagiarism
I'm reading the Kiwi Farms CHAZ thread from the time of the Mays shooting and it's really funny watching right-wingers try to play internet detective
They keep making wild claims about the identities of CHAZ security people whose names I personally know and they're all wrong
Someone claimed this is a screenshot from "James Madison's" Linkedin page
Madison was the famous CHAZ security guy with the green mask. He would have been 12 years old in 2006, which is awfully young for an Air Force munitions systems craftsman
This one is really ridiculous because all you have to do is look at Madison and you know he's not old enough to have been in the airforce 14 years ago.
He is unironically an ex-marine. He's one of the rare CHAZ guys who wasn't LARPing about that stuff
It's great when Republicans attack a dysfunctional city by saying it hasn't had a GOP mayor since 1924 or whatever.
A lot of those cities have been governed for most of that time by conservative Democrats whose policies weren't that different from what a Republican would do
Chicago's a good example of what I'm talking about. I've seen Republicans attack Chicago by saying it hasn't had a GOP mayor since 1931, but Daley, Sr. was very popular with business interests and downstate Republicans loved him for unleashing police brutality on hippies in '68
Both Daleys were super right-wing Democrats. People thought Daley the Younger was a secret Republican (and he might actually be a secret Republican). He was quite conservative like his dad and imposed some very shortsighted privatization schemes
YIMBYs are right that a big problem is bad zoning policy, but one thing the federal government could do to fix the housing crisis is change the tax code to make it way more lucrative for developers to build multifamily units. Accelerate depreciation on residential construction
The problem is this is an even more boring topic to discuss than zoning lmfao. I tried to write an article on this and couldn't pull it off in a way I thought anyone might actually want to read
The thing about stuff like this is that leftists street fighting the far right actually helps the far right. The violent far right is paradoxically most active in the liberal Pacific Northwest because they have antifa to use as a recruiting tool for conservatives in rural areas
Also: I remember several years ago when leftists started talking like this, I was telling people leftists would inevitably murder innocent people wrongly accused of Nazism
Leftists then actually did murder innocent people wrongly accused of Nazism. Lesson being I'm always right
This is literally what killed Antonio Mays, Jr. They thought Nazis were shooting up CHAZ because they were paranoid, delusional nuts who thought phantom Nazis were attacking them.
So they responded by freaking out and lynching a black 16 year old
