Things #Ofsted DID NOT mention in their report into Caversham Primary.
Thread below.
I feel out of my depth jumping in but I have strong connections to the school and Ruth Perry, having worked with her for 10 years and seen my 2 girls thrive there and this needs to be said.
#1 #Ofsted failed to mention the torrential rain during BOTH days of their visit to Caversham Primary. Anyone who has ever worked in a primary school will shudder at the words 'wet play'.
Wet play = over excited, penned in children full of energy.
#2 Before lockdown, Ruth Perry and Caversham Primary had a Mocksted which was OUTSTANDING
Ruth constantly strove for improvement and our school was testament to her commitment.
#3 Ruth Perry had to show prospective parents around the school knowing that the report was going to hit THE WEEK AFTER selections had been placed.
Can you imagine the extra stress of showing an *outstanding* school knowing that it would soon be rated *inadequate* ?
#4 #Ofsted rated Caversham Primary inadequate. The parents had other ideas. Glowing reports and incredibly high levels of satisfaction. Just look at these stats. parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/parent-view-re…
I was unsure whether to wade in but Ruth's sister Julia is keen to keep the conversation going and to continue shouting until something changes. #edutwitter we can't bring our colleague and friend back but please RT, shout, do what you can to insist on change. 🙏
