Some of the many reasons that many kind women wish to retain single-sex spaces.

Women's bodies, bodily functions and processes have particular impacts:

1. Women are unable to toilet without half-undressing. The ability to respond quickly is hampered by that fact.
2. In restrooms, women deal with processes that are uniquely female.

Most obviously, menstruation.

For some, particularly older women who have gone through menopause and childbirth, incontinence both bladder and bowel...
... Women who have incidents where these processes require some form of cleanup, will often need to undress more than usual.

Their embarrassment at greater exposure and their vulnerability increase.

1/ I had a thread with someone today who thought any single-sex space was exclusionary, transphobic and homophobic.

I asked them to consider this thought experiment that flips The Staniland question...
2/. What is your reaction to the thought of a 7 year old girl entering a men's communal changing room and completely disrobing?

What if they were 9? 11? 16?

What if they were an 84 yr old woman?...
3/. There is usually some form of discomfort recognised

Not in anyway related to transphobic or homophobia.

Young girls or elderly women are very unlikely to be sexual predators either.

So, what is the reason for the discomfort?
