/ Organ trafficking is a heinous crime that involves the illegal trade of human organs for transplantation. This trade often involves the exploitation of vulnerable individuals and can amount to modern slavery.
2/ The Modern Slavery Act is a law in the UK that was introduced in 2015 to combat modern slavery, including human trafficking and forced labor. The Act sets out a range of measures to prevent and tackle these crimes.
3/ One important aspect of the Modern Slavery Act is the requirement for companies with a turnover of over £36 million to publish a statement detailing the steps they have taken to ensure that their supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
4/ This is particularly relevant to organ trafficking, as the illegal trade in organs often involves a complex supply chain that can span multiple countries and involve numerous actors, including hospitals, brokers, and middlemen.
5/ By requiring companies to be transparent about their supply chains, the Modern Slavery Act can help to identify and disrupt the trafficking of organs and other forms of modern slavery.
6/ However, there is still much work to be done to combat organ trafficking and other forms of modern slavery. Governments, NGOs, and the private sector must work together to raise awareness, strengthen enforcement, and protect the rights of victims.
7/ We all have a responsibility to fight against modern slavery and ensure that the human rights of all individuals are respected and protected. Let's work together to end this heinous crime once and for all. #EndOrganTrafficking#Moderndayslavery#Beatrice#ekweremadu

How come security and safety staff not know how to evacuate people during emergency situations ?
It is obvious there is no regular drill done in preparation of this unfortunate accident #portharcourtmall
People had to be carried behind pick up Vans in place of proper ambulances. The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital is just a 3 minutes walk from the mall and has no functional ambulance service.
This is 2019, not 1978. #portharcourtmall
Ambulances procured by the Rotimi Amaechi govt all stand in rot at the car park of the hospital. Over 10 of them. No repairs, no maintenance, no interest in repairs.
The present government needs to do something about emergency medical care in the state. #portharcourtmall
