Rahul Gandhi’s recent coming of age performance in connecting with people on grassroots, but the obviously aggressive and hasty strategy of stifling his voice vehemently suggests that Pegasus data decoding must’ve been worrying for the ruling authoritarian regime.
They must’ve been left aghast with the undercurrent and mood among the people they’re trying to hoodwink using their feeble, fake nationalism laced propaganda.
Logically no other reason comes to mind other than the spectre of diminishing electoral prospects for BJP.
Many sane/liberal and noted columnists (either under BJP’s influence or oblivious of it) might try to analyse Rahul Gandhi’s efforts as futile and not working.
But, something solid is at play behind BJP’s current and suddenly desperate stance about RG and the general election
in 2024 that has pushed BJP to risk tarnishing their reputation even at the expense of losing moral/ethical pedestal which was painstakingly orchestrated (including selective timing of G20 presidency).
I wish some ears closer to ground zero musters up courage and writes on this!
For defamation law around the world, the plaintiff is required to prove in court that his reputation and life have been damaged significantly after the accusations.
As described in the following thread, former Indian prime minister Morarji Desai lost defamation case against
American author Seymour Hersh. Desai made a statement on camera how disciplined life he lived which bolstered Harsh’s defence that Desai’s life had not altered after accusations in his book about Desai.
Indian criminal justice system doesn’t require the plaintiff to prove
what damage they suffered after accusations?
If Modi has been winning elections successfully, where is the damage? What defamation?
If Rahul Gandhi has been unsuccessful in winning elections after the defamatory speech against Modi, where is the defamation/damage to Modi’s
Khalistan protesters targeted a Gujarati passer-by near London’s Indian High Commission with aggressive abuse.
This is what some of us have been worried about ever since politics of hate has become mainstream at behest of two top Gujarati leaders.
On top of that NRI Gujjus are spreading vicious hate towards all minorities vocally which will inevitably boomerang. I witness it regularly how Gujarati folks get carried away with Indian domestic agenda driven hate outside India.
This is just the beginning (people will still discard it as it’s been spouted by Khalistani supporters) but believe me it will spread just the same as post 9/11 Islamophobia.
The way entire Indian majority Hindus (RW to be precise) have become aggressive without understanding
I’ve found it rather amusing that despite massive propaganda and claims of developed Gujarat model under Narendra Modi, why are Gujaratis at the top of immigrants in US, UK, Australia or even obscure European countries.
We’re made to believe (we meaning rural/semi urban
and otherwise gullible janata) that Gujarat is the land of dreams and prosperity. Economy, infrastructure are world class and businesses are booming.
On the contrary, the largest number of immigrants in US, UK are Gujaratis. People young and old try hook and crook to emigrate
to west spending north of Rs 20 lakh each to get any visa and get out.
Most of them when asked, confess that the SME sector is dead, education is all privatised and expensive beyond reach. Jobs are scarce in MNCs and govt for the few highly educated.
For the record, American researchers have time and time again proven their findings right.
Delve into history and dig out former PM of India Morarji Desai's libel case in Chicago District Court against an allegation levelled by Seymour Hersh naming Desai as CIA mole in his book
Morarji Desai lost the case and Seymour Hersh acquitted by court after six months long trial. In the US, it is the plaintiff who has to prove that the defendant's allegations are false. Desai had to prove that he had never been a CIA "asset"
- a difficult task as the agency is not in the habit of providing affidavits; that Hersh's information was false; that he had knowingly printed lies about Desai; and that he had doubts about the truth of his allegations.
#BBCdocumentry has not only exposed what happened in 2002 but also exposed how hollow, powerless and weak Modi is in 2023. With aggressive attempts to stifle democracy by banning documentary, he’s exposed as a despotic leader in front of the world.
All his PR to project him
as a global leader have been blasted in one stroke.
With his image in a free fall, he’s also destroyed Indian judiciary’s once stellar credibility by manipulating and bribing justices offering post retirement sops.
Indian judiciary remained impervious to use of agencies by
erstwhile governments and kept delivering justice as central pillar of a healthy democracy. Not any more.
In his zest of snatching clean chits from every single law enforcement agency, Modi killed the very fabric of responsible democracy.
Morbi is in national news because of #MorbiBridgeCollapse claiming 140 plus lives pointing to gaping holes in infrastructure projects and its maintenance as well as administrative negligence.
Let's delve into Morbi's political past and why turmoil engulfed it.
Morbi traditionally is ceramic capital of India with over 1000 ceramic tile factories producing 90% of India's ceramic production.
This ceramic industry is cracking under rising costs with 800 units facing uncertain future due to constant rise in prices of
gas, coal and raw materials.
Morbi's ceramic factories halted production for one month beginning August 2022 in an unprecedented action. Major reasons for this move was due to significant decrease in domestic demand as affordable housing construction fell below sustainability.
