By the end of 2020 & before schools in the U.S. reopened to full census classrooms, we had a mountain of data clearly demonstrating the harms of pediatric SARS-CoV-2 exposure. I never once saw a pediatrician provide informed consent along WITH their guidance to reopen schools👇

We had the resources in spades to both inform children, teachers, & the community of the known harms AND to fully prevent them. The resources of 2021 (HEPA, hybrid classrooms, mandated respirators, fit testing, #ZeroTransmission lunches, education about SARS2, etc) work today.

I anticipate one day in the next few years SARS2 virus won’t be an issue anymore. But that reality will not come from “hybrid immunity” or infection. It’ll come from mode-congruent NPI’s like mandated respirators &/or a mutation resistant pharmacological like an ACEII mimetic.

The key (or limitation) for any of these revolutionary solutions to work are:
—informing the public of the risks of SARS2 exposure on a regular basis
—hopefully SARS2 doesn’t beat us to the punch with a strain with an ultra refined affinity RBD for hACEII receptor.
