“The gun fetish is weird!”

You know what? I agree. Every time I see a picture of some dude with three or four pistols and a rifle slung over his shoulder, I think “attention whore.”

It’s gross.

But not as gross as grown men with fake breasts dancing sexually in front of kids.
I think guns have moved from an object to be seen as protection to a symbol of rebellion and resistance.

But it wasn’t us who pushed them that way.

Politicians made guns an object to be reviled and feared. So we mock your fear by flaunting what you fear.
The AR-15 specifically. I get the GOP wore AR-15 pins a few weeks back. It was a middle finger to those who want to blame inanimate objects and lie about their real intentions.

But it was dumb and gross.

But the arguments against the AR-15 are dumb and gross too.

I’d like to speak to Amanda.

I hope you’re never hiding in a closet on the phone with 911, begging for cops to get there quickly as a violent man searches your house for you.

But if that should happen, I hope you have a gun so the lifeless body the cops find won’t be yours.
You want to frame “guns” as a pro-life issue? Okay.

There are between 500k and 2m defensive gun uses a year. The extreme vast majority of these are cases where the gun is not fired, simply brandished.
All gun deaths in 2021 (the year I could find) was 47k. That includes homicides (murder and self defense) and suicides.

That’s 10 defensive uses for every death.

Guns are pro-life.

How many dead cops, soldiers, men, women, and children are you willing to sacrifice to take them?

All that blood on your hands because you don't want to secure schools.
Let's say you get 50% of the guns easily. People willingly hand them over.

That's still 200 million guns in the hands of 36 million gun owners.

There's 1.33 active military personnel (meaning a bunch of them aren't fighters)
Add in another 1 million law enforcement officers (estimated high), and you're at 2.3 million vs 36 million.

Roughly 15.6 civilian to every "law upholder".

And that's not counting the military/law enforcement that would side with civilians.
