3. Tonight on #AskPastorYinka, we will be looking at the subject of faith.

Q: HOW DO I MAKE FAITH WORK FOR ME?
I read and hear testimonies of people who do great things in life by the operation of faith - how can I also achieve this in my life?

4. So, let us begin our contemplation from the roll call of FAITH – Hebrews 11. Reading through this chapter of the Bible, you can see different feats that were achieved in different strata of human endeavour – spiritual feats, political feats, etc.

5. And the one consistent theme in all the remarkable achievements recorded in Hebrews 11 is the centrality of FAITH.

6. Again, in 3 separate places in the Bible (Hab 2:4, Rom 1:17 Gal 3:11) we are told that this Kingdom life can only be lived by faith...
Gal 3:11 "...for the just shall live by faith."

7. Furthermore, Heb 11:6 (NLT) states with absolute clarity...
"So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him."

8. So, the starting point for any conversation on the subject of faith should be accepting that a higher dimension of living is only possible through FAITH.

9. Now someone may say, “But Pastor, doesn't everyone have faith?”
So, let me speak to that - not all men have faith!
2Th 3:2 ...and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.

10. Howbeit, every believer has a measure of faith.
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

11. After all, we are saved by faith…
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.

So, every Christian is a man/woman of faith, no matter how small that faith may be...

12. And all a person needs to be able to do remarkable things in life is to just have a tiny weeny bit of faith - Jesus said so...

13. Mat 17:20 (MSG) "The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, 'Move!' and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn't be able to tackle."

14. So, what most of us need is not so much how to get a larger dimension of faith, as much as how to make the faith we have work for us!

15. First, your faith must be a SEEING FAITH.
You need faith to see the INVISIBLE (so you can do the impossible).

16. Remarkable deeds are often things that have never occurred to people before or things that have been examined and judged as impossible.

17. Unfortunately, if you see everything through the lens of what can be seen by ordinary human eyes, and what men have agreed can be done, you will miss out on the remarkable.

18. See, there are still new grounds to break. New products to launch. New lines of research to open up. Unchurched people to reach. Unserved markets to explore. Untapped resources to exploit. And it takes the eyes of faith to see all these.

19. I don’t need to be a prophet to tell you that right now, there are things that God wants to do in your life that are being hindered by your ability to conceive and accept such possibilities in your heart.

20. Heb 4:2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

21. See, no matter how much you pray, fast or confess, if the possibility of a thing has not yet been conceived in the womb of your spirit, God will be limited in his operation in your life.

22. The reason why you seem to have consistent testimonies in certain areas of your life is that your spirit has conceived possibilities in those areas.

23. And the reason why some other areas of your life appear to be so hard and unproductive is that you are not yet seeing God-sized possibilities there, because you cannot grow beyond what your spirit agrees with!

24. If you can only conceive of thousands in your spirit, God cannot take you into the realm of millions. If you can only conceive of one small shop in the corner of the mall in your mind, God cannot give you a global chain of stores.

25. A seeing faith looks at what you look at but sees something entirely different from what you see.
It looks at a small seed but sees a forest of trees.
It looks at a child but sees a man.
It looks at a plot of land but sees a city.

26. It looks at a limitation but sees immense possibilities.
It looks at a small church but sees a global congregation.
It looks at a small startup but sees a global behemoth.

27. A seeing faith is a prerequisite to achieving remarkable things in life because you need it to be able to accept as a possibility in your spirit the things God is showing you or saying to you that He wants to do in your life!

28. Remember that we do not really see with our eyes - they only receive visual signals. The actual "seeing" (the processing of that information) takes place in the brain.

29. So, what you "see" is not a simple matter of what your eyes are beholding, but a matter of what interpretation your brain (your mind) is giving to the received visual information.
