HOLY SHIT Donald Trump has been criminally indicted in Manhattan!
Per NYT it’s felony indictment, it’s been filed under seal, and it’ll be announced in the coming days.
Trump will now be instructed to surrender himself by a deadline, then he’ll be placed under arrest, processed, and arraigned in front of a judge. This is all happening.

60 Minutes is putting Marjorie Taylor Greene on the air specifically so you’ll throw a fit about it, bringing it publicity, causing everyone else to tune in to find out what the hubbub is about.

60 Minutes is using your addiction to outrage to goad you into doing its bidding.
Y’all are so famously addicted to getting to feel outrage, everyone else out there – from the media to Trump’s team – sits around game planning for how to use your outrage addiction to manipulate you into spreading whatever it is they want out there. You’re the useful idiots.
And you don’t care. Because like any other clinical addict, your addiction to getting to feel outrage is all that matters. If you end up helping the other side, who cares, as long as you get to spew rage, and get to feel righteous outrage coursing through your veins.

Trump’s team appears to have planted a story about him having managed to negotiate not getting a mugshot. That’s not how anything works. Some in the media are repeating this claim because they think you’ll bite on any opportunity to feel outrage. Your job is to not fall for it.
There is some weird reporting that for safety reasons they can’t take Trump to the usual mugshot location, so they’re setting up a mugshot camera at the courthouse, but they don’t know if it it’ll be ready in time and it might have to be done later. Even if true, this is not…
…at all the same thing as Trump having somehow magically negotiated his way out of having to do a mugshot.

And this reporting acknowledges he camera may be set up on time. How long does that even take?

When Trump’s attorney claimed that Bragg wanted him to surrender today but the Secret Service pushed it to Tuesday, it seemed pretty obvious he was lying for effect. But some major media outlets printed it as fact, and it took hold. Now it’s been confirmed that it’s indeed a lie.
Why would Trump's team make up a lie like this? To make it look like he's getting special treatment. To make him look like he's still powerful. To make you think he's still winning. To cripple you with defeatist outrage.
Why would the media amplify this kind of lie from Trump's team, knowing it was likely a lie? Because defeatist outrage is great for ratings, and will continue to be great for ratings as long as so many of you remain addicted to it.

Every time MSNBC refers to Donald Trump as the “2024 Republican frontrunner” I’m going to remind everyone that at this point in the 2016 cycle, the “Republican frontrunner” was Scott Walker. This far out, the word “frontrunner” is misleading and completely irrelevant terminology.
“But it’s different because Trump’s base will never abandon him no matter what!”

This simplistic little slogan conveniently ignores the fact that Trump is only at 55% in Republican primary polling to begin with. Trump barely has half the Republican primary voting base as it is.
Earlier this month truck came within a few points of losing his “Republican frontrunner” status to Ron DeSantis – and was only saved by the fact that DeSantis is a historically weak and self-destructive candidate who couldn’t even survive his own national rollout.

So Trump’s Manhattan indictment has been delayed until May, it’s just a misdemeanor charge, there’s pro-Trump violence everywhere, and Trump is now at 100% in 2024 polling. Oh wait, none of those things happened, it was all just bullshit that the media was hyping for ratings.
There were points in this process where the majority of you reading this believed that each of these lines of bullshit was true. There were times when I got so flooded with this kind of doomsday crap, I had to spend the majority of my day shooting it down.
You can now see with clarity that none of these things were ever true, or even realistic. It’s now obvious to you that the people who hyped these things didn’t really believe any of it themselves, and were just playing you for outrage and ratings and retweets.

Trump’s indictment and arrest are not a somber moment or an embarrassment for our country. Having a career criminal as President was an embarrassment for our country. His indictment and arrest are a joyous celebration for democracy. Take this somber crap and shove it up your ass.
Donald Trump isn’t being arrested because he was a crappy President or because we don’t like him. He’s being arrested because he committed felony crimes. A lot of them. So many crimes in fact that he’s being criminally indicted in three different jurisdictions.
Trump isn’t some tireless public servant who made a single error in judgment and had to be arrested for it. That would be a somber moment. But this is a career criminal who’s being arrested for crimes he committed in the name of trying to get into office to begin with.
