Weaponization of the justice system is not an impartial DOJ indicting a lifelong criminal.
Weaponization of the justice system is firing your AG because he refused to investigate your former political rival in an effort to fulfill your warped ‘campaign promise’ to “Lock her up”
Weaponization of the justice system is firing your own FBI director because he wouldn’t stop investigating an attack on our elections by a hostile foreign power that you were complicit in.
Weaponization of the justice system is having your DOJ secretly subpoena the data of two prominent Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee (Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell) in an effort to subvert Congressional investigations into your own crimes.
Weaponization of the justice system is trying to fire the Special Counsel who was hired in response to your firing the FBI director and tasked with investigating whether and to what extent you colluded with a hostile foreign power and obstructed justice.
Weaponization of the justice system is pressuring your first AG to fire the then-FBI director Andrew McCabe and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein to obstruct investigations into your own crimes.
Weaponization of the justice system is requesting your DOJ to open an investigation into your 2020 opponent, Joe Biden.
Weaponization of the justice system is having your next AG whitewash the findings of the Robert Mueller’s investigation and lie to the American people.
Weaponization of the justice system is repeatedly applying pressure on the DOJ to take it easy on your allies facing legal pressure, which were ultimately successful in the cases of Michael Flynn and Roger Stone.
Weaponization of the justice system is having your Chief of Staff send emails to the DOJ in your final weeks in office in an attempt to get them to investigate baseless election fraud theories to lend legitimacy to your lies about a “stolen election” that you used to stage a coup
Weaponization of the justice department is using the DOJ to obtain the phone records of reporters who scrutinized you in an effort to obtain dirt of some kind on them in an act of completely illegal retribution.
Weaponization of the justice department is using the FBI and IRS to go after your political opponents or other perceived enemies.
It’s revoking security clearances of former top intelligence officials and press passes for reporters who were critical of you.
Weaponization of the justice system is attempting to extort the President of Ukraine into launching sham investigations into your future political opponent by withholding critical aid and then claiming immunity from prosecution on the basis of occupying the Presidency.
Weaponization of the justice system is having your acting Secretary of Defense prevent the deployment of the national guard to the U.S. Capitol for over three hours while you watched the deadly attack you incited based on a lie unfold on live TV from the WH.
Weaponization of the justice system is trying to get the Supreme Court (one third of which you appointed) to overturn the results of the 2020 election despite there being no evidence whatsoever to substantiate a single claim of fraud or malfeasance of any kind.
I could go on and on with this, but the bottom line is Trump spent every day of his time in office weaponizing the justice system. He wielded the power of the Presidency as a weapon against his political and other enemies and the DOJ as a shield to protect him from accountability
Republicans can whine all they want about how Bragg indicting Trump constitutes “the weaponization of the justice system.”
The fact is that:
1,) No, it doesn’t, and
2.) The guy you’re claiming is the victim of such weaponization did nothing but weaponize it himself for 4 years
And Trump is not alone in his weaponization of the justice system. The entire @GOP has done the exact same thing by packing SCOTUS and the lower courts with religious extremists to rip fundamental rights from women and restrict voting rights/access among people of color.
And there is perhaps no clearer example of weaponization of the justice system than the wife of a sitting Supreme Court Justice (Clarence Thomas) using her political power to try to overturn the results of an American election via deadly insurrection:
Truman rebuilt the interior after it literally fell apart
FDR expanded the West Wing to improve workspace
Kennedy restored historic art & furniture
Obama made the building more energy efficient
None of them BULLDOZED AN ENTIRE WING to build themselves a $200 million ballroom
Trump isn’t just knocking down walls — he’s defacing our history. The White House IS NOT HIS to redecorate/destroy. It belongs to the American people. Every inch of it represents democracy, continuity, and the sacrifices made to preserve it.
Bulldozing part of the East Wing to build a personal $200 million ballroom is a grotesque display of ego and ownership. Presidents are temporary stewards of that building — not kings building a palace to immortalize and glorify themselves.
1. House Republicans pushed through an extremist reconciliation bill that has poison-pill provisions — including one that lets ACA subsidies expire at year’s end, yanking affordable health coverage from ~15 million people and hiking costs for millions more
2. The bill also included deep cuts to programs that tens of millions of Americans rely on to LIVE like SNAP, Medicaid, and renewable-energy investments — all designed to appease the MAGA hardliners and Freedom Caucus (even though MAGA actually gets screwed the *most* by these).
MAGA is incensed that their false prophet didn’t win the Nobel Peace Prize. Yes, actually. Trump even being *floated* for the prize is not a compliment. It’s a SICK MORAL JOKE — political malpractice dressed up as a medal that would have ended the award’s prestige (THREAD) 🧵
The man they want to celebrate spent YEARS cozying up to autocrats, praising strongmen, and kowtowing to dictators who crush dissent. That is the LITERAL OPPOSITE of peacebuilding.
He weaponized lies to justify cruelty at home — FAMILY SEPARATION, CHILDREN IN CAGES, PEOPLE SHIPPED OFF TO FOREIGN TORTURE PRISONS WITHOUT EVEN A TRIAL, the list goes on — and then pretended that cruelty was “strength.” That’s not leadership. It’s CRUELTY-AS-BRAND.
Why is @JDVance always whining that people don’t “show enough gratitude”? Let’s break down the psychology behind his fixation — because it says way more about him than anyone else. (Thread)🧵
First off, “gratitude” is Vance-speak for subservience. For submission. He doesn’t mean “you need to show more thanks.” He means: you need to sit down, shut up, and be deferential to people like ME. It’s about HIERARCHY, not humility.
Vance constantly projects his own insecurities. He clawed his way from poverty to Yale to MAGA darling by performing gratitude for elites like Peter Thiel. Now he expects everyone else to play the same role — or be condemned as “ungrateful.”
