West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice signed a bill to help adoptive parents with tax credits. It will also provide funding to help pregnant women and infants through pregnancy resource center services. But some legislators are not happy with support for choices other than abortion. 🧵
"These centers never ask a woman for payment. They just help," said FFL President Serrin Foster. "We encourage legislators to visit pregnancy resource centers which support women who choose life with clothing, parenting classes, guiding them through the maze of programs…” 2/
“…such as SNAP and Medicaid, establishing paternity, applying for child support, and so much more. So what's the problem?" Serrin asked. "After all, they say they are pro-choice, right?" #FeministsForResourcesAndSupport #prolife

New first-of-its-kind research on 17 years of comprehensive Medicaid claims data, shows women whose first pregnancy ends in abortion:
• 53% more miscarriages,
• 35% more pregnancies over their lifetime,
• > 4x as many abortions,
• and only half the number of live births. 🧵
The study was conducted by 10 researchers at the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) and is corroborated by separate peer-reviewed research, which has found that women exposed to multiple induced abortions are at increased risk of: 2/
• extremely preterm (premature) birth in future pregnancies, based on an analysis of more than 400,000 pregnancies in Finland;
• low birth weight in future pregnancies, based on a review of 37 studies; 3/

Today marks the first Election Day since 1972 in which states are no longer bound to uphold a Supreme Court-interpreted "right to abortion" in the United States Constitution. But as we have said before… 🧵 Image
…there is still no federal protection for women and children from abortion; the matter has been returned to the states. This year, five of them have placed abortion on the ballot. If you have not voted already and live in one of the states below… 2/
…VOTE NO on ABORTION UNTIL BIRTH. We refuse to choose between women and children. We believe in the strength and dignity of women and the inherent worth in every child, unborn and once born. Do what our pro-life feminist foremothers could not do: VOTE. 3/

Feminists for Life of America is reacting strongly to the Vice President of the United States meeting with university presidents to promote abortion. Our President Serrin M. Foster said, “FFL has been working for decades to help pregnant and parenting…” 1/insidehighered.com/news/2022/08/0… Image
“…parents and birthmothers achieve their career plans, without having to sacrifice their children. With nearly 2.1 million single mothers also serving as student parents (iwpr.org/iwpr-issues/st…), now is not the time to go backwards.” 2/
"It is more than disappointing to see the emphasis on abortion by Kamala Harris and some administrators. It is regressive. They accept the false notion that having children is an obstacle to success, while we believe that motherhood in and of itself is a form of success.” 3/

Even some in the medical field are saying they can’t care for women suffering a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. Absolutely false.

No pro-lifer supports that & no state is crafting legislation to make the care of women going thru either form of reproductive loss illegal. 1/
This myth could cost lives and should be stopped immediately.

Indeed, a recent LATimes article claiming that the use of methotrexate (which treats myriad non-pregnancy medical conditions) could be banned by anti-abortion laws sowed further confusion among the general public. 2/
Dr. Ingrid Skop, an OB-GYN with >25 years of practice, explains:

"These articles are all scare tactics by the abortion industry and their enablers in the media. None of the state laws prohibit the use of methotrexate for an ectopic pregnancy. They certainly don't prohibit…” 3/

"We want the mother to know that this infant will be taken care of, will be loved, and will have a great life," wrote the Schererville Fire Dept of Schererville, Indiana, following the surrender of a healthy baby girl in their Safe Haven Baby Box. 1/ wrtv.com/news/local-new…
"Babies should never be discarded through abortion, infanticide, or abandonment. It will haunt a woman throughout her life," declared FFL President Serrin M. Foster. "Women and teens need to know about safe havens in their areas…” 2/

Q. My girlfriend is pregnant. I have told her that I would support her, but she doesn't feel ready to parent and has scheduled an abortion. I don't want her to have the abortion, but what can I do? 1/
A. I am so glad that you are supportive of your girlfriend and the child you conceived together. She has many viable choices including marital or single parenthood, kinship care, or adoption (open, closed, or semi-open adoption where you could receive pictures and updates). 2/
Remember there are many resources available. Consider advice from a pregnancy resource center to navigate the maze of resources and support. Legally, it’s her decision, but the opinion of the child’s father is the #1 factor in a woman's decision about having the baby or not. 3/
