After thousands of years of domestication, dogs have developed eye muscles to be more expressive and infant-like.

These same muscles are absent from their closest relatives, wolves.

As a result, wolves are unable to communicate with humans or be the new logo for Twitter.

You will never look at Einstein’s “Special Theory of Relativity” the same way again after reading this LinkedIn post. Image
Anyways, here’s a great Einstein story
Also, my excitement for Oppenheimer went through the roof when I saw this part of the trailer

Ray Allen’s game-tying 3 in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals is the clutchest shot in NBA history:

• he was back-pedalling
• had to keep his size 15 shoes in bounds
• and catch-and-shoot with a hand in his face

The most interesting part: Allen actually practiced that *exact*… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

A Reddit user made a great chart of TV show peaks and troughs based on average IMDB episode rating per season.

It doesn’t have Succession but the show has a higher rating each year and ends at its peak.

Season 1 = 8.3
Season 2 = 8.4
Season 3 = 8.9
Season 4 = 9.2 Image
I recently wrote about the chart and talk about other artists that believed in the power of leaving at the top (Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Martin, Quentin Tarantino).

Read it hear: bit.ly/3MK7vZw Image
And here are my very bad photoshop skills trying to eye-ball Succession into the chart: reddit.com/r/dataisbeauti… Image

Often think about how the last season of “Game of Thrones” had a $90m budget. Yet somehow, a Starbucks cup still ended up on air. Image
The estimated exposure was worth $2.3B for Starbucks. Seems high! cnbc.com/amp/2019/05/07… Image
Just used ChatGPT — via my research app Bearly.AI — to guesstimate GOT cameo cup value to Starbucks. Dummy numbers are off but not the worst napkin math template. ImageImageImage

Speaking of movies, Blumhouse Productions has a fascinating business model.

And has made some of the most profitable films ever by focusing on low budget horrors with big upside for creators.

Fun fact: Blockbuster’s first streaming partner was Enron (which said it could provide the fiber-optics network for video-on-demand).

But deal fell through: wsj.com/articles/SB984… Image
