Outside of #ab millions of Canadians have no idea what has been brewing in one of the most bizarre political stories in the history of Cdn politics. Some day a movie will be made -might be called Premier and the Preacher. The Premier, Danielle Smith. The Preacher is Pawlowsky.

"Pawlowski wanted Smith to convince the prosecutor to drop the charges. The premier explained that she had been working on doing exactly that and would continue to do so with the justice minister and his deputy.

Smith also let drop that she had been questioning prosecutors “weekly” about the case. If all true, it is a shocking interference with the justice system on behalf of someone facing criminal charges.

why on earth was Smith taking 11 minutes out of her busy day (she had been premier for only three months at the time) to speak with someone as notorious as Pawlowski... it was Pawlowski who presented German neo-fascist Christine Anderson with

"Calgary’s white cowboy hat as a welcome gesture..long before that he was already well known for his bigoted behaviour. For yrs he provided food to street people in front of Calgary City Hall while preaching through an amplified megaphone about the wickedness of homosexuality."

In 2020 he focused his wrath on pandemic-related health restrictions. In Feb 2021 as part of his campaign against them he co-organized the Jericho Torch March, which featured flaming tiki torches just like the infamous 2017 Unite the Right protest in Charlottesville, Virginia.

At the Coutts border blockade he allegedly urged on protesters demanding the end of vaccine mandates by telling them “this is our Alamo” and “people must be willing to sacrifice their lives.”

Who on earth could have convinced Smith that she needed to take that call just before the trial was due to get underway? Apparently, it was Dennis Modry an Edmonton surgeon who endorsed The Barrington Declaration —

a since debunked theory that claimed most people would eventually acquire immunity from COVID-19 if it were allowed to run rampant through the population. Modry introduced Pawlowski and stayed on the line for the entire call." thestar.com/opinion/contri… via @TorontoStar

Kudos to @GillianSteward Calgary based author and journalism instructor at Mount Royal University. She has been chronicling the craziest story in Canadian politics. A movie should be made some day, based on a book that Steward would do well to publish.
