April 6th, 2023: @Twitter has been randomly shutting down API access for many apps and sadly we were affected today too. Hopefully we will be restored soon! We appreciate your patience until then.

So this news landed up on my TL, thanks to Shri @GhotalePatil Ji.
Well, this calls for a replugging of a 'not so old' thread in which folks on one of my WA groups did some renaming of their own!
Here goes!
Beijing: भुजंग नगर
Lhasa: लक्ष्मणगढ़
Tibet: तिवतियानगर
Hua Toh Hua!!
Perfect 'renaming' of the Chinese spokie by @PiyuNair on the most apt situation - that of occupation of Kailash Ranges by the Indian Army along with their Tibetan brothers on 31 Aug 2020!
So I came across this tweet from @gauravcsawant some days ago.
In light of this, replugging a short thread that I wrote on the issue some years ago.
Here goes ..
With the Pakistani State apparatus actively fomenting / sponsoring terror inside India, each and every Pakistani citizen paying tax to his Govt in whichever form - direct or indirect - is actually enabling it kill Indian soldiers and civilians.
In case of Pakistan, State support for terror too is blatant.
At times it is apparent for all to see as in Punjab Govt budget catering money for Hafiz Saeed's JuD, which itself incarnated from the LeT when the heat became too much on it! thehindu.com/news/internati…

Folks, sharing some thoughts on the Russia-Ukraine War that has just crossed the one year mark.
Strictly my opinions, so feel free to disagree.
Let me begin with this horrific video montage of relentless bombardment of a major city, housing millions of non-combatants.
^^
Btw, the above visuals are from the 2003 invasion of Iraq by the great US of A and even Greater Britain, plus a host of other 'willing' partners. Interestingly, next week will mark two decades of that invasion on an utterly false premise, for which the culprits didn't face ..
.. ANY sanctions whatsoever!
Instead, the victim country was destroyed to the extent that they are still struggling to stand up.
Btw, the same culprits are today collectively united in their 'horror' at the invasion of Ukraine by Russia!

Folks, yesterday was the 334th martyrdom anniversary of Sambhaji Maharaj.
Replugging an old series on him.
Here goes..
2 #Sambhaji Bhonsle was the once estranged elder son of Shivaji Maharaj who ascended to the Maratha throne after his death, in Jul 1680. This was in the middle of the Mughal - Maratha War.
3 #Sambhaji carried on his father's war with renewed vigour and zeal. In the process, #Sambhaji inflicted serious defeats on Aurangzeb's army in a cycle of death and destruction.
In 1689, however, his fortunes took a turn for the worse.

On 28th Feb, i.e. today, Captain Shashi Kant Sharma, 12 JAK LI, Sena Medal (Posth) would've been celebrating his birthday with his near and dear ones.
Had he chosen the easy path, that is.
2
But a young Shashi, commissioned in the Armoured Corps, with no business being anywhere but the plains of Punjab / Rajasthan, volunteered for a stint at the world's highest battlefield, #SIACHEN.
3
Not satiated, even there he went on to volunteer to man the most difficult post, the Bana Post at nearly 22,000 feet.
This was in 1998, a time when Siachen was not just the world's highest battlefield, but also a highly active one.

Folks, today is the 77th anniversary of the Royal Indian Navy mutiny.
I guess not many remembered.
Here's a short thread on that.
2
A beautiful piece on the Royal Indian Navy mutiny which commenced this day in 1946 - the final straw that broke the Empire's back.
Worth a read.
A MUST READ piece, in fact! tribuneindia.com/2006/20060212/…

Photo: Indian Naval ratings march in Bombay in defiance of the Empire.
Ironically enough, like the chapattis which went all around India during the 1857 First War of Independence asking the nation drive away the British, it was 20 loaves of bread that started this RIN Mutiny.
Ok folks, sharing some thoughts on the current state of Pakistan.
Strictly my opinions. Feel free to disagree!
Been a while since I did a thread, lets see how this one goes ..
First and foremost, I would like to start with an undisputable fact:
This is the longest that the Pakistan Army has NOT directly ruled Pakistan.
Yup, you may read the above statement again and take some time to do some mental mathematics if you so desire!
Now, why might that be, one might ask.
Well, it is NOT because they have decided to stay in their constitutionally mandated role instead of meddling in politics (and business as well, but that topic is 'out of course' for the time being).
