Brisket II

Dry rub with salt, pepper, garlic powder, lemon pepper, cumin, onion soup mix, dried onions, and brown sugar. Cover the meat on both sides with the dry rub and set it aside to marinate for an hour or more.

Make sure you have enough of the dry rub to use at later stages.

Sear the meat on both sides in oil.

In a pot or the same place you seared the meat, place two sliced onions and sauté them with a cup of balsamic vinegar and then add two chopped carrots.
Then add several cups of beef broth, add a half cup of bbq sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Add more brown sugar and onion soup mix and some of the leftover dry rub mix. Add a bit of brown sugar and dash of mustard. Pour this into a deep baking dish.
Place the brisket in meat side down (fat side up).
Pour a bit more onion soup mix on the fat.
Pour two cans of Coca Cola over the brisket, it should be sitting in about an inch or more of liquid, about up to half the meat, but not over it. Cover with two layers of tin foil.
Place in oven at 135 C or 275 F. Leave for an hour for each pound of meat, around 7 hours is good.

Turn the heat off and let it rest for two hours.

I’ll start a 🧵 on the current escalation in Israel’s north. Let’s remember that while this goes back many years in context, the current tensions with Iran and Israel rose over the last week, then spread to Jerusalem and Gaza
It’s important to note that rocket fire from Lebanon is very RARE and that Hezbollah has often drawn a red line against Israel’s response claiming it could lead to wider conflict https://t.co/MHrsNthySJ
The lady major incident was May 2021 when Israel responded to rocket fire from Lebanon reuters.com/world/middle-e…

This appears to be due to tensions in Jerusalem and video of police trying to clear protesters from Al-Aqsa. There aren’t official announcements yet but will come soon probably

I don't want to be too cynical...but if he was "shaking the tree" to see which voices would dare critique his plans, so he could get rid of the Defense Minister and consolidate power...and then gives a speech backtracking on the "reforms"...the result is still about his power.
Everyone who recalls how he governed back in 2018 onwards recalls how he consolidated numerous ministries and portfolios, jettisoning defense and foreign ministers so that he could do everything...so everyone must rely on him and hang on his every word...
Remember how there would be endless elections...which of course resulted in him staying in power while everyone ran around voting again and again...and remember he torpedoed his own coalition with Gantz so he could have endless elections...

The figure of 78 or rounded to 80 is often used to characterize the number of attacks since January 2021 targeting US forces in Iraq and Syria
This comes from data given by Gen. Kurilla to US lawmakers that the number of attacks since January 1, 2021, was “about 78 times" on March 23, 2023; english.alarabiya.net/News/middle-ea…
It's worth noting that some reports seem to claim this number relates only to Syria. It doesn't. It relates also to the attacks in Iraq; jpost.com/middle-east/ir…

How can anyone find an “animal origin” based on three year old data mysteriously uploaded and then removed from a data base? Isn’t the basis of science things like transparency and being able to test data and have access to it and where it was taken
Imagine if someone told you they had found the origin of black holes in space and they found it because “someone uploaded some info to a database and then removed it”…I mean how could you take this seriously? In no other aspect of science is some random data like this accepted
Imagine if they told you they found some missing evolutionary link based on a bit of information uploaded and then removed from a data base…not accessible or open to study…but wild conclusions based on a sliver of suspicious information
