Players taking the knee ✊
#PL players will take the knee on matches between 26-28 December as part of the #NoRoomForRacism campaign, amplifying the message that racism has no place in football or in wider society
We asked these football legends about their favourite moments and players in the #PL, to celebrate #PL30 🎂
🧵 THREAD 🧵
🗣 Jamie Redknapp
"The Premier League has done a great job for football, I think it is the best league in the world.
"Blackburn winning the Premier League at Anfield was an amazing day. I was playing for Liverpool, everyone at Anfield wanted Rovers to win instead of Man Utd!"
"My favourite moment is Aguero winning Man City the title in 2011/12, it can't be topped
"Dennis Bergkamp was a genius. If you look at all these flair players you have now, he started it. Thierry Henry brought that sauce, I remember playing against him"
How #PL matches will be different behind closed doors. A guide to the safety measures in place during the match 👇
🏃♂️ If there's only one tunnel at the stadium, the away team’s players will enter the pitch first, followed by the home team
📏 When they line up for the #PL anthem, players will now stand in a staggered formation
🛑 Handshakes between the two teams will no longer happen
📏 Benches will be expanded to enable social-distancing. This includes using seats next to the bench or reallocating seats to provide the required distance
⚠️ Those in the technical area must maintain social-distancing, with zones marked out to guide them
