3 states that automatically sent mail ballots to all registered voters in 2022 midterms (Colorado, Oregon, and Washington) were among the top 7 states with the highest youth turnout.
Youth turnout ranged from as high as 37% in some states to as low as 13% in others.
Many of the states with high youth voter turnout in the 2022 midterm elections had strong policies that make it easier to register and vote.

In contrast, some states with low 2022 youth turnout are notable for their lack of facilitative voting and registration policies — Tennessee (13%), Alabama (15%), and Oklahoma (15%).

Automatic voter registration for eligible voters and updates via the @USPS change of address database offers convenience for voters and eliminates deadline issues.
Extending preprocessing time allows election officials to utilize their resources more efficiently and gives voters the opportunity to cure their ballots if necessary.
Yesterday, we saw a surprising number of false and misleading claims about the #ForThePeopleAct by members of the Senate. In this thread, we are going to fact-check some of the disinformation perpetrated by elected leaders in the Senate.⬇️
Claim: “The Corrupt Politicians Act'' would also automatically register to vote anyone who comes in contact with the government….”
Fact: This is FALSE. Automatic voter registration was proposed in S.1. but only US citizens would qualify.
Automatic Voter Registration would work in conjunction with @USPS to update data such as address change and eliminate deadline pressures for voters.
Every registered voter is mailed a ballot. No filling out request forms, no hoops to jump through. Voters can then either mail the ballot back ✉️, or drop it off at a secure dropbox 📮or mobile voting center. (2/5)
In order for a ballot to be counted, the envelope must be signed and every signature is verified by a bi-partisan group of election judges, who are trained by the FBI. (3/5)
