🧵 HOW-to create an #iOS Shortcut to directly integrate #OpenAI services like Dall-E with your iPhone.

Augmenting Siri. A thread ⤵️

1/ Prerequisites

Two requirements for this to work:

1. Shortcuts app installed on a newer Apple device running the latest iOS.

2 OpenAI API Access and an “API Key” that will be used for in Shortcut logic.

2/ The Logic

Click into the screenshot for all the logic to build into your Shortcut.

Some notes here:

- The shortcut name is used as a “trigger” ( e.g. “Hey Siri… Generate an Image.”)

- I’ve highlighted in green exactly where to paste your unique API Key

3/ Logic Overview

When the shortcut runs, an API call is made to OpenAI based on the input provided Siri to generate an image.

The logic then goes on to overlay text on the image based on the prompt, and saved to a Photos album (you must create) called “Dall-E Generated”..

4/ Customizing the Logic

Change the size of the image generated by adjusting the ‘size’ parameter logic (1024x1024, 512x512, or 256x256)

You can change the text overlay as well by modifying it in the logic to include whatever text is desired.

And adjust the formatting..

5/ “Ask Chat GPT” Shortcut (Bonus)

Here’s logic for an additional shortcut to augment Siri’s assistive AI with text-davinci-003.

The logic appends the output generated to a note called “Chat GPT Q&A” (which you must create) and copies the generated text to clipboard to paste.
