Taehyung was currently lying down on his sofa inside his flat, so him turning around wasn’t quite possible.
With a confused expression on his face, he sits up to look around. Jungkook had a key to the apartment but he hasn’t heard any sound indicating someone else was with him.
Instead, he hears the doorbell ringing. It doesn’t take much to figure out that it was Jungkook who was on the other side of that door.
Because of that knowledge, Taehyung takes his time to get to the door before finally opening it and revealing a doe-eyed Jungkook.
And while the younger has a mischievous smile on his face, Taehyung only raises an eyebrow—uninterested. “‘Turn around’? Really?”
“Thought it’d be romantic.” Jungkook shrugs.
“Yeah, maybe if it actually worked.” The older rolls his eyes and walks away from the other, making his way into the kitchen instead with Jungkook following behind him.
“Oh cmon—”
“Don’t ‘cmon’ me. I’m mad at you.”
“Doesn’t it mean a lot that I stopped my errands to come to you?”
“We planned on meeting up today.” Taehyung says as he makes himself a cup of tea.
“Yeah but later! I’m here now.”
“Who’s to say you’re not just here—hm, I don’t know—because you live here too?” He rolls his eyes.
“Right but I’m here /for/ you. That counts for something!”
“You know where the door is if you wanna leave again.”
Taehyung doesn’t budge. Not when all he wants to do is make a nice, hot cup of tea.
However, things get a little harder when Jungkook traps him against the counter with the younger’s hands snaking their way around Taehyung’s waist as his chest is against the older’s back.
“I think we still have unfinished business to get done though.” Jungkook says as his nose brushes up against Taehyung’s nape before planting a soft, tender peck there.
“And—and what business is that?” Taehyung manages to let out after his breath hitches.
“Your lips have a meeting with mine.” Is what Jungkook responds with and it makes the other chuckle as he stirs the liquid inside his mug.
“I don’t recall agreeing to that—In fact, I don’t even recall /you/ agreeing to that.”
“I was joking, you should know. Ofcourse, I’d kiss you.”
Perhaps it’s strange; what they’re doing, how they’re acting when they’re nothing but best friends.
Perhaps that’s also what makes them different—that they’re not just friends.
They’ve never bothered to put a label on it but kissing or cuddling a little too intimately is not something they aren’t familiar with when it comes to each other and for now, they’re okay with that.
“Would you really?” Taehyung asks, and ofcourse he knew the answer to that already.
“You wanna turn around and find out?”
“And if I don’t?”
“You will, eventually. I can wait.”
An amusing smile settles on Taehyung’s face, but he quickly shakes it off as he begins to turn around. “You know—”
He doesn’t finish because Jungkook hurriedly connects his lips to Taehyung’s own. The latter lets out a hum of surprise, but it’s not long until he kisses back.
Unlike the peck that Jungkook planted moments before, their kiss is different. It’s a mixture of both tender and eagerness—a yearning for one another.
The kind where you know the other isn’t going away yet you can’t help but keep them as close as you can.
They’re mirroring each other’s movements with a hand on the other’s waist and the other hand on their cheek.
Breaths mixing into each other and getting too caught up in the heat of the moment.
When Jungkook’s hand travel to the back of Taehyung’s thighs—indicating that he’ll lift him up onto the counter, the older attempts to place a hand on the flat surface to help and support himself.
But when he does that, he accidentally dips his fingers onto the hot tea instead.
The oh so very hot drink that he just made.
“Ow—fuck—”
“What happened?” Jungkook asks sympathetically.
“I dipped my hand into the tea.” Taehyung pouts as he lifts his fingers up closer to himself to see if they were okay.
Jungkook tried not to laugh but he accidentally lets out a little giggle.
“Hey, it’s not funny!” The older smacks him on his chest with his unharmed hand. “Asshole.” He mumbles.
“It kinda is, what a cockblock.”
Taehyung only glares back at him and raises the same hand in attempt to hit him again.
“Okay, okay! I’m sorry.” The younger says quickly before the other can get to him again. “Here, let me.”
Jungkook grabs Taehyung’s wrist gently and blows on his fingers. A moment goes by and he plants a sweet, long kiss on them. “Better?”
And all Taehyung can do is smile lovingly in contentment.
Because things /are/ better and great with them and that’s why they’re okay with where they are now.
Even if Jungkook did blow on the wrong set of fingers.

Over the few weeks, Taehyung had gotten used to the even noiseless library in the early evening. There was complete utter silence without the quiet murmurs or whispers from other students, the only sound to be heard were his own footsteps.
Pilot!Jungkook forgets to turn off the PA announcer on the plane after welcoming the passengers aboard. A while later, he starts a conversation with his co-pilot about how he’s ready to ask out Taehyung—one of the flight attendants working on board.
