If the Bible is what it claims to be (our light), then it is God's revelation. It's *the* authentic source of information about God. You can walk in its light or choose to continue in the darkness of ignorance.

Thread 🧵
This is what I gleaned from a book in the Bible (St Paul's first letter to Timothy) today about the nature of God.
1. The God of the Bible is “the LIVING God” (4:10). He gives life to all (6:13). God is the only One who is truly IMMORTAL (1:17; 6:16).
2. God is INVISIBLE to our eyes (1:17; 6:16). He dwells in unapproachable LIGHT (6:16). No man has ever seen Him. No one *can* see Him (6:16).
(Cf John 1:18. Only Jesus, who was with God forever, has seen God)
3. God is our SAVIOR (1:1; 2:3; 4:10)
God desires that all humanity should be saved from their sins (2:3-4). When we pray to God that each person should be saved, it PLEASES God (2:3).
4. God is our FATHER (1:2)
He's the Source of our life. He's our defender and provider. He loves us more than any earthly father can love us.
5. God is the eternally BLESSED KING who deserves our worship (1:11, 17; 6:15, 16). God is the only SOVEREIGN, the King of kings (6:15).
Earthly rulers are no match for Him.
6. God entrusted the "glorious Gospel" with followers of Jesus Christ.
The Gospel doesn't condone sin. Its "sound teachings" must dictate the moral & ethical life of Christ's followers (1:9-10).
7. Just as there's only one humanity, there's only ONE “God.” God is worthy to receive all honor, glory, and eternal might forever and ever.
(1:17; 6:16)
8. There's only ONE Mediator between God and humanity – the Man Jesus Christ. (2:5)
9. The Church belongs to God (3:5).
The Church is the “household” of God (3:16). Those who cannot govern their own households can't lead God's Church.
10. God, in His generosity, created all foods for our enjoyment. Abstinence from foods that God created isn't a sign of godliness. No food should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving to God (4:4).
11. When children/grandchildren look after their parents or grandparents, God is pleased (5:4)
12. God is in charge. Paul wanted Timothy to continue keeping his instructions until the appearing of Jesus Christ. God, he said, would bring this about in His own time (6:15)
St Paul worshipped God:
“Now to the KING eternal, immortal, invisible, THE ONLY GOD, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”
1 Timothy 1:17
“God is the blessed and only Sovereign, the KING of kings, and the LORD of Lords, the only One who has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; no one has seen or can see Him, to Him be honor and eternal might. Amen.”
Those who dream of wiping out the Church through misuse of laws & legal procedures are repeating mistakes committed by enemies of the Gospel for 2000 years.
A persecuted Church is a united powerhouse. ✝️ We are strongest when we are weakest. God is our strength.
Modus operandi 1. Hindutva goons disrupt Christian worship meetings on Sundays 2. Christian leaders are taken into police custody. Trespassers go scot free 3. Pastors are "encouraged" to give an undertaking that they will no more conduct meetings
Goons barged into a Church in Delhi NCR & disrupted Sunday worship service on Feb 26. They got Pastor Santosh Abraham & his wife arrested! In this "free" country any Christian can be booked on as baseless an allegation as "forced conversion" @USCIRF@India_NHRC@INCIndia@hrw
If voters, swayed by attractive poll promises, change political allegiance, do they get to sue party leaders for "forced conversion"? If not, why are religious leaders prosecuted for others' religious choice?
Political leaders know how difficult it is to convince even the poorest of Indians to vote for them. If you can't FORCE intelligent Indians to vote in your favor, what wave of folly makes you think Indians can be FORCED to change their religion? Don't insult an Indian's wisdom.
