Only 1-4% of Autism Speaks' budget actually goes to autistic people and their families for support (they are more interested in trying to prevent us from existing).
Meanwhile, their executives make ENORMOUS salaries, some at more than $600k a year.
"Everyone does that" traits are often present but limited in allistics, while being much more prevalent, profound, frequent, or disabling in autistics
Example: Everyone has had social anxiety at least once in their life. Everyone has awkward moments and gets uncomfortable.
Does this affect you on a daily basis, with little/no explanation? Does this deeply affect your life? Is this because of struggling with NT communication?
Just like, everyone gets sad sometimes, but that's not the same as depression. Everyone has personal preferences, but that's not the same as OCD. Everyone gets overwhelmed, has personal routines, finds the music too loud sometimes, but that's not the same as being autistic.
