2/6🧵
Regarding CO2, circumstantial evidence exists that mask use may be related to current observations of a significant rise of 28% to 33% in stillbirths worldwide and a reduced verbal, motor, and overall cognitive performance in scores in children born during the pandemic
3/6 🧵
A significant increase in CO2 body levels in mask wearers under various conditions has been demonstrated by many scientific intervention studies
4/6 🧵
According to these data, wearing face masks has the potential to exceed acute (3% CO2 for 15 min) and chronic (0.5% CO2 for 8 h) NIOSH limits for CO2 respiration.
This causes toxicological risks of carbon dioxide rebreathing for particularly vulnerable groups.
5/6 🧵
Animal experimental data shows deleterious proven effects of elevated CO2 of inhaled air with threshold values of above 0.3%, 0.5% and 0.8% (Neuron destruction, impaired memory and learning, increased anxiety, destruction of cells in testes, stillbirth, and birth defects).
5/6 🧵
in view of the limited scientific evidence for masks as an effective pandemic measure (SARS-CoV-2), there is need to re-evaluate and reconsider mask mandates especially for vulnerable subgroups (pregnant, children and adolescents)

#Facemask
#mask
Although there was no evidence for the effectiveness of masks against viruses at the time, they became mandatory during the pandemic despite harbouring unknown toxicological risks.
2/24
Sobering and frightening facts are given in this new scientific review paper on face masks potential toxicological effects.
Keep in mind that increased mouth breathing takes place while wearing a mask and mask contents are inhaled from almost zero distance to the airways

Let us at first start with a look on the highlights of the paper:
1/8 #Mask: No proof of the effectiveness against viruses
Strong Evidence of ineffectiveness exists!
Authors try to support the narrative with observational studies, but neglect numerous observational studies that prove the ineffectiveness of masks, see 5/8jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…
2/8 And they also question the gold standard and the highest scientific evidence, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and the top publication of the highest quality
the systematic Cochrane Review from 2023, which prove the ineffectiveness of #facemasks. cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.10…
3/8 The basis for the evaluation of any medical intervention is randomised clinical trials (RCTs).
This paper summarizes the current status of RCTs on #masks and viruses in its introduction: cell.com/heliyon/fullte…
3/5 And there is evidence of the toxic effects of carbon dioxide (CO2) rebreathing from #masks, especially for children, adolescents and pregnant women.
2/15
scientific evidence for face masks to limit viral
transmission is contradictory and controversial.
A survey of the literature indicates that there is no strong support to show that face masks significantly reduce infection or transmission.
3/15
Based on the current, relevant scientific literature, the theory that face masks during pandemic played a significant role in stemming viral transmission is questioned. Overwhelming evidence leads to conclude that mandating masks is ineffective and obsolete.
