“Julian Assange is one of the most consequential journalists of the last 50 years…

He has almost certainly broken more major stories than almost every single employee of the MSM outlets combined.

They don’t hate Julian Assange despite the fact that he’s broken so many stories,… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Now a political prisoner in the UK for 4 years, we dedicated last night’s show to reviewing the groundbreaking @wikileaks reporting that shed important light on the worst abuses of the US government—and put a target on his back: rumble.com/v2i8vle-system…
@wikileaks The political persecution of Julian Assange is the single gravest threat to press freedom in the West—and the Biden Administration could end this cruel injustice immediately.

We call on them to do so.

.@elonmusk’s clash with a BBC reporter this week was incredibly revealing along several dimensions.

One of them: These cloistered liberal journalists crumble instantly when their echo-chamber worldviews are questioned.
It also shows how readily and casually they’ll hurl unsubstantiated accusations at perceived political enemies.

Any and all tactics to take down the “Bad People”™️ are not only permitted but encouraged in their social and professional circles.

Despite elite claims to the contrary, a steadfast commitment to costly militarism abroad cannot be separated from the declining living standards of its citizens at home.

*Of course* the citizenry suffer when resources are redirected from their needs to those of foreign wars.
Numerous alarming metrics indicate US living standards are in decline:

↪️ Drop in overall life expectancy
↪️ The huge % of young people living at home
↪️ Underfunded health care programs
↪️ The ongoing fallout in East Palestine

We detailed these & more in last night's show.
It is self-evidently true that as American resources are drained abroad, they are unavailable to alleviate suffering at home—especially for the poor & working class.

No one articulated this more clearly than MLK as he began speaking out against the US' role in Vietnam 👇

There is something very strange about this "leak" of Top Secret US documents on the Ukraine War:

We don't know who released them or why.

And if you look past alarmist MSM headlines, it's not obvious that they *actually* threaten or embarrass the United States government 🧵
If we scrutinize their "most damaging" revelations as reported by corporate media, they don't reveal much that wasn't already known or suspected by the public—or supported by US officials.

For starters, that the US has special forces operating in Ukraine.

Of course they do.
Another widely-touted bit of "devastating" information are the leaked potential pathways by which Israel may start providing lethal aid to Ukraine.

Not that they had secretly started down any of these paths—just how they might one day do so 🤷

A series of “Anti-TikTok” bills are on the table in Congress, from Hawley’s TikTok ban to the far more expansive RESTRICT Act, for the stated purpose of protecting Americans from China.

But we should be very wary that they aren't exploiting fear of China for authoritarian ends👇
The lesson we should have learned following 9/11—and the *extreme* government measures like the Patriot Act & Homeland Security that followed—is that we cannot allow fear of a foreign threat, however real, to induce us to "temporarily" trade our rights for protection.
Furthermore, we should remember that permitting dissent on these questions is essential, without accusing opponents of poor character or malicious motives.

Watch, for example, this despicable campaign ad run against Max Cleland in 2002 for his skepticism of the Patriot Act:

UNPRECEDENTED: A Manhattan grand jury under a Democratic district attorney voted to indict Donald Trump—not only a former president but also the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination.

It's a stunning escalation by powerful institutions to keep Trump out of office 🧵
Since 2016, when Trump beat Hillary Clinton & disrupted their status quo, American power centers engaged in extremist conduct to ensure he would not win again.

Recall the Time magazine article admitting this outright in February of 2021: time.com/5936036/secret…
With recent polling putting Trump *ahead* of Biden in a general election,

"That is what the headline needs to be... not that a Democratic district attorney... indicted a former president for the first time... but that [he] indicted the current presidential frontrunner for 2024."

One of the most egregious propagandistic claims made surrounding the war in Ukraine:

The US cares deeply about Ukrainian sovereignty—and had no hand in its affairs prior to Putin's invasion.

It belies a mountain of contradictory evidence that needs to be reviewed 🧵
In 2014, leaked audio of Victoria Nuland & the US ambassador to Ukraine exposed their plans to overthrow Ukraine's democratically elected leader.

Everything they discussed came to pass.

But sure, the US has had nothing to do with the internal affairs of Ukraine.
Around this same time, several US officials travelled to Ukraine in *explicit support* of anti-government protestors.

Sen. Chris Murphy told protestors: "Ukraine's future stands with Europe, and the US stands with Ukraine."

Totally disinterested third parties here.
