It was all for nothing. But it did substantial psycho-social and health damage to people, particularly to small children.

This Trump trial has gotten truly Kafkaesque.
What Bragg is arguing is patently false. Otherwise, these are misdemeanor charges at best that would have ran past the statute of limitations.
"Falsifying business records 'with intent to defraud,' by itself, is a mere misdemeanor under New York law.
