Today I see people once again criticising who is allowed to speak at #LetWomenSpeak. This is not about whether you agree with what KJK says, where she speaks or whether she’s too confrontational etc etc. this is fundamentally about the very premise of #LetWomanSpeak 1/
As I understand it the purpose is to give a voice to any woman to talk about her experience of or opinions on - women’s rights and the impact of gender identity movement. Is this correct? Because that means - any woman 2/
Regardless of her other politics or views. That could mean leftist women, racist women, antisemites, pro life women, communist women, radical feminist women, nationalists. Brexiteers, remainers, anti vax, pro lockdown (even now 👀), anti lockdown - you get my point? 3/
It’s unpleasant to share a platform with people you are normally ideologically opposed to but they are not actually platforming *those views* but as far as I can see - their words as women on womens rights. I can definitely see how this is difficult to pull off 4/
What I don’t really understand is why people are cherry picking the women they don’t like and decrying the whole idea of #LetWomenSpeak because women who have other opinions you (fairly) detest are allowed to… speak. 5/
I completely support the criticism of the above because I can see many many ways that it might go wrong (optics, trying to keep the mic open with wildly different women together, without ill feeling or giving into “must have rules on who is allowed” and I admire that 6/
honest feedback. But I am getting a bit tired of seeing people I respect and admire apparently not realising that ONLY pointing at (and objecting to) people they consider “far right” entirely feeds the TRA narrative that KJK and by extension any woman who speaks IS “far right” 7/
So I find it a bit ironic that by pointing out that one or more women (not the majority by any stretch) who speak have “right wing” and yes even racist views is exactly what the TRAs do. And guess what. Some women are right wing and some are racist. 8/
So all #LetWomenSpeak is actually doing is giving an inclusive platform to all women who want to speak about *their* rights. An actual representative cross section of actual women. Warts and all. You may not like that approach and that’s fine - clearly it has drawbacks 9/
And risks. Those risks are not mitigated by people playing right into the TRA narrative and it undermines the very premise of #LetWomenSpeak. I don’t agree with the opinions of many of the women who speak and I bet neither does @ThePosieParker - but that’s the point. 10/
I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of shouting in the comments, but my point is not about agreeing with this person or that person, personalities, or the risks and issues involved but the very core premise of #LetWomenSpeak - which is a platform for any woman to speak 🤷‍♂️ 11/11
PS maybe it can’t work. Maybe it is now impossible to do inclusion right but I admire @ThePosieParker for trying.

Some people really do believe the definition of man and woman is “politically affiliated”.

I hope the guy assaulted, who I’ve met, is ok and recovers. But if he was asked to leave because he knows sex is real, that’s deeply dystopian all on its own. ImageImage
Well Derek, two can play at that game. I note your bio. You have pronouns. THAT is politically and ideologically motivated. Shall I ask you to leave my (hypothetical) bar if you say your pronouns or have a pronoun badge? That ok too? 🤷‍♂️ Image
(Ps the answer is no unless I want to get sued in either case)

@KirstieMAllsopp @jonvafc @sisterhooduk @sharrond62 Do you even understand that if *I* a man decide to identify as a woman *right now* then by gender identity ideology “rules” I am therefore a woman? That this is the absurdity of the whole thing? What sex is a “trans woman” and who is the “female loo” for?
@KirstieMAllsopp @jonvafc @sisterhooduk @sharrond62 What this screams to me in actual fact is that if a man identifies as non threatening - you believe him. And if he puts on a dress, “femmes” it up a bit or yes - *is gay* - you no longer see him as a man.

That’s sexist.
@KirstieMAllsopp @jonvafc @sisterhooduk @sharrond62 And I guess you’re unaware that in 2015 (and still), the biggest “gay rights” org Stonewall actively campaigned to make “self ID” law and remove women’s rights to single sex services? Image

They are so frustrating. All they need to do is say and do nothing much and they’d get my vote. But what they keep doing is saying “we will put women’s rights and safety at risk and endanger young gay people” just to placate a baying mob that can’t be placated anyway 1/
Why @UKLabour insist on playing the game of “say nice words be vague and they’ll cheer” is baffling to me. The gender ideologues will still not accept anything other than full capitulation and all your actually doing is making the “be kind” lot feel good 2/
And since I am ranting 🙂- that’s what this is actually about. It’s transparent to me. There’s no content here. No meaningful policy. No details on what any of those statements actually mean in practice. It’s virtue signalling to keep uninformed people on side 3/

Actual communists actually understand the meaning of the word “class”, which should surprise no one. Anyone who has read any actual socialist theory will not be surprised.

I am not a communist. But they’ve nailed it here.
I am waiting to see the communist party be called “fascists”. That should go well. 🙄
😐 “right wing”

😐 it’s a real tweet.

“True feet”. “Foot binding”… 😶

…I think that’s enough internet for today. And too much India already.
Of course it never happened. Of course even India doesn’t actually believe feet can be shrunk. It’s just so crass and rude. Again. And the replies are absurd.

You can already wear these boots in a size 9 or 11 for goodness sake. “Trans visibility” does nothing 😖 Image
“Oh interesting boots, are you trans then?” 🤪

I just want people to think about the “protest” at the lesbian project today.

When has it ever been legitimate to protest people, in this case women, for meeting to discuss things that affect them? No one is proposing anything that harms anyone, or discriminates…1/
These “protesters” are objecting, because a group of lesbians want to start a lesbian only group. Even in gender speak it’s simply “AFAB lesbians” (though that is in itself ludicrous).

What’s the legitimate protest here? Non inclusion? 2/
That’s absurd. Not everything has to include everyone all of the time, as the TRAs demonstrate with their own *exclusive* orgs.

But if it doesn’t include men, or points out men can’t be women, and is by women only, the hatred is framed as “protest” 3/
