I remember that Clarence Thomas wrote an opinion last year that rolled back New York State gun laws, and a lot of other gun laws too.
It's the guns, AND it's the corrupt courts. We have to address both. #corruptClarence#guns
Frankly, Harlan Crow should be forced to donate to THIS cause. He helped cause this death by his, and his billionaire friends', multi-decade effort to put more guns on our streets. Buying off corrupt Clarence Thomas was part of that.
It is excellent that the corrupt courts and all the gun deaths are starting to, finally, reflect on the people that helped cause them: Harlan Crow and the Republicans he funded.
Everyone should know Crow's name and face, because narratives have power. 🔽 houstonchronicle.com/politics/texas…
Very good news on the courts today: at least one Senate hearing.
It’s the first time I think I’ve heard a Senator say this hearing will be specifically about Clarence Thomas’ corruption. @SenWhitehouse said “judicial ethics”. Good!
From @AlexPadilla4CA
@SenWhitehouse@AlexPadilla4CA Now the next question:
Who will be subpoenaed,
and how will those subpoenas be enforced?
All of that matters.
We should push for the justices to come testify, and for inherent contempt— or Court defunding—to be used for enforcement.

The Dominion trial shows Fox has lied for decades, with actual malice, about many things that harm us, the public—lies on immigration, Obama, freedom, trans people, education.
Yet we only got this lawsuit because a corporation was defamed.
The FCC used to do this for the public!
@FixMediaNow Who has standing to challenge defamation of democracy, committed with actual malice? Defamation that harms the public?
Right now- no one does! That’s a problem with our laws.
The public has an interest in the Dominion trial. /3
Don’t want to get too deep in this but it shows the failure of neutral journalism— which can only destroy and criticize, never fix things or build.
We all want migrant kids to be safe and to go to school. And their parents are sending them here to work and send $ home. So /1
the White House has few good options. (Let’s start by saying: Susan Rice’s note is horrible.)
If you’re trying to find a solution, probably the best is to _prosecute the child labor companies criminally_.
But /2
Since neutral NYT and the neutral Atlantic cannot actually advocate for anything, they just go nuclear criticizing everyone in sight. Susan Rice and Becerra become the targets — easier than corp targets, because the hiring companies don’t disclose info.
This is why Schumer is the problem.
He runs the Senate caucus.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
And all the Senators who have spoken up defending Feinstein are also part of the problem and should revise their statements now.
True for the conservative legal “movement” too — which is really a fancy social club funded by billionaires, that would disappear like snow in summer if we curbed the influence of billionaires’ money in politics.
Note: I’m not saying the conservative movement is not powerful, or not dangerous — it is both those things! Billionaire oligarchs have extraordinary influence in America today.
We must fight, together, to fix the country and expand pluralistic democracy. It will not be easy.
Worth remembering that Tom Nichols also has gotten Fox and Murdoch catastrophically wrong for years and years. Yes, Nichols’ politics is his own self-righteousness.
