Just to add: the treatment of @aytchellesse by @OUPPhilosophy is truly abysmal, so plainly motivated by abject cowardice and/or rancour from internal enemies, abandoning all normal standards for dealing with a highly competent author. I'd never publish with them again myself.

There's a bunch of philosophers who hover proprietorially over anything written about sex/gender, nixing everything that doesn't conform to preferred conclusions. They pretend to be doing social justice with words, but by now it's as much about saving reputations as anything else

When a heretical essay does, by some miracle, escape into the wild, these philosopher-gatekeepers either haughtily ignore it in subsequent work, or leap to laboured misrepresentations which a child could see through (sometimes apologising that they have to mention it at all).
