The jail phone call we just heard is one of the key, memorable moments in Lori Daybell's trial thus far.
Colby Ryan demands his mom, who refused to turn on her camera during the call, to tell him that Jesus really told her to kill his siblings.
He says he has been praying for her and Chad Daybell - "as much as I want to hit him in the face with a shovel" - and pleads for her to tell him the truth.
"My siblings, my whole family, my dad - everyone is gone except my mom and you're in jail because of it. You ripped my heart out. You ripped everyone's heart out."
I've requested the audio from the court and will post it as soon as we get it. I'll play it tonight on Courtroom Insider at 7:30 p.m. MT. Watch here on my FB page or the @EastIDNews YouTube page. ImageImage

Cowden responded to the Chandler house the day Charles Vallow was shot. July 11, 2019. He says he and other firefighters entered the house and found Charles lying on the floor on his back unconscious.
Cowden assessed and evaluated Charles' body. He found blood on Charles' shirt and observed two gunshot wounds. Cowden pulled up Charles' shirt and began CPR.
"We were led to believe CPR had started prior to our arrival communicating with dispatch. We were led to believe the caller, the shooter, had started CPR." Cowden says if CPR had been performed, there likely would have been injuries or an impression on Charles' chest.

"Tylee was responsible with her money. I never saw her have one negative balance," Douglass says. She had two automatic payments set up - her Jeep and T-mobile accounts. The money she received following Joe Ryan's death went into the Chase account.
Douglass says Joe Ryan held a life insurance policy. Death benefits of $60,000 were paid into a bank account held by Lori Vallow on Aug 26, 2018.
Douglass says Lori held a $2 million life insurance policy. On Aug. 12, she changed the policy so her son Colby was 100% beneficiary. On Aug. 14, Lori wrote on her apartment application that she was receiving $5,740 a month from Social Security funds.

The interest from members of the public wanting to attend the trial in-person has not decreased. Many people telling me they've taken time off from work to be here. One woman introduced herself to me - said she drove from Sacramento to be here. Lots of folks from Idaho & Utah.

Next witness called by the state is Mark Saari. He is a special agent with the Social Security Administration.
Saari's responsibilities include investigating fraud. In January 2020, his office was contacted by the FBI in Arizona about two missing kids. Saari was asked to investigate whether the benefits for the children were being misused by their mother.
