I had to show my ticket, my driver’s license, had my purse inspected & was wanded by a security metal detector before entering. Once inside, I was given these two items. Approx 200-300 people in attendance. @Moms4Liberty had first 2 rows reserved. #DeSantis #Charleston 1/

DeSantis was introduced by local #M4L chair, Tara Woods. Lots of talk about protecting children & praise for how Florida handled #covid, #CRT, school board takeovers, being at war w/ “woke mob” & how the battle has just begun. 2/

DeSantis spoke for about 45 minutes.

Things I heard him condemn:
Woke mob, CRT, Fauci, DEI, Biden, vaccine mandates, BLM protests, transgender sports, books, Bud light, ESG & Disney

Things I did not hear him condemn: Trump, Jan 6 violence, Fox News defamation settlement 3/

I left when he brought his wife out. He’s opposite of small government conservative. He’s vindictive & by his own admission hasn’t taken poll of constituents since he’s been in office. (How does he know what they want?) He believes his election gave him 💯 mandate to govern 4/

Summation: I actually said to @Lisaiz2 as we left that Trump scares me less than DeSantis. Both are power hungry & vengeful, but DeSantis is less interested in being lauded like Trump. He’s uninterested in representative government. Count me firmly in #NeverDeSantis corner. 5/5

Dang it! Forgot to mention. DeSantis also bragged about sending confused immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, supports building border wall & bragged about his response to covid (86K Floridians died), Hurricane Ian ($5.2B relief came from federal gov) & state budget surplus.
