So many crazy things happened in AI this week.

You probably haven't been able to keep up.

1. Google revealed AI above search
2. Microsoft is gunning for NVIDIA
3. Meta released vision tech
4. Elon launched TruthGPT
5. A student launched HealthGPT

Here's what you need to know🧵
1. Google revealed Project Magi

Of the big tech companies most hurt by the rapid advancements in AI, Google is at the top.

So, on top of Bard finally being able to code this week…

Google also has 160+ engineers working on Project Magi.

Magi is a big deal because, unlike Bard, it sits atop search.

It could be a gigantic change for the entire web.

If people stop going to sites via Google and just interact with its AI... whole companies will be at risk, from Expedia to Wikipedia. Image

I’ve sat in over 1,000 product reviews in my 15 years in product management.

These are the most common content mistakes I’ve seen:
1 - Long presentation with little room for discussion

The product review becomes performance theater instead of a space to improve the product work.

→ Solution: Build discussion points and questions into the meeting agenda. Spend less than 1/3rd of the time on monologues.
2 - Clear you haven’t gotten into the details yet

As soon as product leaders press in with questions like, “What about X user group?” the answer is “We will get back to you on that.”

→ Solution: Push back product reviews if you need extra time, instead of going in unprepared.

How Uber, Spotify, & Netflix continue to grow while focusing on a single market.

Pursuing a singular flywheel (genius strategy):
Fully devoting yourself to a singular flywheel is one of the hardest challenges in business.

It's a daily battle of saying "no."

Now that zero interest rates have come to an end, it's more important than ever.

Airbnb, Uber & Netflix have done it beautifully.

Let's explore...
· Uber's Flywheel

It's based on the two values that drive ride-sharing:

1. Faster pickups: More geo coverage → Faster pickups → More demand → More drivers → More geo coverage

2. Lower prices: More geo coverage → Less driver downtime → Lower prices → More demand Source: Version One

The era we are in now is the era of integrated generative AI. Large language models and image generation models have hit impressive inflection points in the past few months.

This makes them essential features to incorporate into most types of software being built today.
AutoGPT and BabyAGI on top of GPT that is a great model for any product builder to add to theirs:

1. Memory
2. Internet access
3. The chaining of instructions to itself
4. The ability to continue operating autonomously forever
