Amid the rising calls to #BlacklistIRGC, it is crucial to know about the terrorist entity's devastating role.
Although very short, this thread is dedicated to this issue.

The IRGC was founded in April 1979. Its main task is to "preserve the revolution and its values" or simply keep the regime in power.
The clerical regime's founder once said: "If IRGC is gone, the whole country [regime] will be lost."

Since its foundation, the IRGC has been conducting both domestic violence and the export of terrorism abroad to preserve the ruling theocracy.
The terrorist organization played a key role in the Iran-Iraq war, mainly in using innocent children as "canon fodders."

The IRGC is directly under the supreme leader's control. It has five forces, including the terrorist Quds Force. The Quds Force's main task is to export terrorism by funding and training Iran's proxy terrorist groups across the globe.

Another notorious organization of the IRGC is its Intelligence Organization. It was created in 2009, and its main task is to oppress dissidents. The organization uses the Bassij paramilitary to conduct surveillance on Iranians.

In addition to its terrorist activities and role in the oppression, the IRGC dominates Iran's economy. It receives the lion's share of the annual government budget, in addition to the unofficial income streams it earns through "private" companies.

Back in 2005, Khamenei instructed Iran's government to transfer 80% of its economic enterprises to non-government sectors by 2009. The result: $12B in shares were transferred in just three years to the IRGC through its"Private companies"

In 2008, Iran's banks became conduits for cash grabs by firms controlled by the Supreme Leader, and IRGC's Financial and credit institutions were created, and some became private banks. Officials estimate over 600 large firms are owned by these banks.

Khamenei and IRGC control Iran's economy through 14 powerhouses. Some of them are listed below:
The Headquarters for Executing the Order of the Imam (Setad)
The Mostazafan (Oppressed) Foundation
Astan-e Qods-e Razavi
Shahid (Martyr) Foundation

These huge conglomerates and institutions control Iran's economy and use the national wealth to fund the IRGC's illicit activities.

These institutions have granted Khamenei the ability to control a vast financial empire.
In its 2013 report, Reuters estimated that the regime's supreme leader has a multi-billion dollar empire. #BlacklistIRGC

One of Khamenei's main plundering institutions is Astan-e Quds Razavi, previously headed by Ebrahim Raisi. According to the regime's insiders, four institutions, including Astan-e Quds, control 60 percent of the national wealth.

How exactly do Khamenei and IRGC use their money:
- proliferating weapons of mass destruction, such as ballistic missiles
- trying to produce nuclear weapons
- Funding terrorist organizations
- oppressing dissidents.

The IRGC's destiny is tied to the regime, mainly Khamenei. It will not reform or help the #IranRevolution It has to be dismantled. The world community, mainly the EU, should #BlacklistIRGC while recognizing Iranians' right to self-defense against IRGC.
